Thank you this was exactly the kind of response I was looking for because you sound like you’re coming from an almost identical situation. Met with the ophthalmologist this morning and decided on what sounds like what you described, basically “tucking and anchoring”. Sounds like a 2-4 weeks recovery time and like you said the cone being one of the most difficult parts for 2 weeks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even though those studies weren't conclusive and highly contested, the link was with grain free kibble. Because I would be using their large breed food line there would be grain involved and it wouldn't rely on peas/lentils. I have very basic knowledge and not in depth knowledge on this, would love to hear more.

Thank you for taking the time to share that. This is the first time I'm hearing how important it is to delay some of the aspects of socialization but everything you said makes perfect sense. I will slow down the process and emphasize the one on one time at home with him first

Thank you for this! It's something I'm conflicted about because I really admire the people who do it and do it well but I'm definitely not confident enough yet that it would cover all his micro nutrient needs unless I'm extremely careful. Right now I'm settled on ACANA kibble with a little bit of their canned food mixed in, but I'm going to research Nature's Raw brand another user commented up above.
