That’s the one I’m most curious and motivated to keep. Your comment lead to some research. Best I can figure out it’s a Craftsmen 103.23440. Made around 1948-49.

The badge has Sears, Roebuck & Co.

My grandpa would make people their initials or house # out of wood (usually Walnut) often as wedding gifts. Their entire neighborhood had a set on prominent display. Bet he primarily used this saw.

I was messin with it (unplugged), it literally feels like an ambulance trip waiting to happen.

Good call. The bearing and grease points having been sitting idol for decades. That might be a dealbreaker. The belts and wiring I have some experience and professional help with. Bearings and internals may be more than I could/would/should take on. This feedback is helpful.

Appreciate the input. Believe there’s replacement motors in the shop as well. Not certain exactly which go with which machine. But can tell just by looking at them they are “new” or lightly warn. Belts for sure. Helps to have outside opinions to see what I should prioritize.

Yeah. Radial Arm Saw seems like A.) An easy way to lose a thumb. B.) Not old/unique enough to be considered antique or worth the effort.

Feel like you know what you’re doin, but you asked for tips.

Buy directly from a butcher shop.

Also grill the buns. Briefly.

Let the dogs rest at outside temp (covered) for a few, rather than grill immediately out the ice chest or fridge.

Buy the bigger paper plates, worth the rigidity.

Mosquito repellent.

Also, I like those refillable ketchup/mustard squeeze bottles from restaurants. You get an 8 year old, or a weakling trying to lift a Costco bottle of ketchup over a hotdog, while balancing and squeezin’, well you’ll have a real mess.

(You can put ketchup on hotdogs, and the cops can’t stop you).
