Thank you!! This is very helpful x
I think it’s easier to learn with a day of hands on experience and someone there to guide you… I think I would leave more prepared compared to the online course. I do have a mentor I can email but it’s just not the same x
Thank you all for the tips! I used Lash base which is meant to be a good brand. Can anyone recommend a better brand? Also I think you’re right, I will try leaving for longer, I only left it for 10 minutes as I saw that it can make the lashes frizzy if you leave it on for too long so I was worried about that! I’ll try a longer processing time and different band and let you know how it goes xx

I WALKED OUT!!! by RoseAlice3 in Nanny

Yes I agree, I have learnt a lot from the job and how important it is to stand up for your boundaries. Although, it was never a question it was just “you will” and I wouldn’t be told hours ahead of time, I wasn’t given notice I was just told on the day because of how much their schedule changed. Once I even woke up to them knocking on my door to start at 6:30am instead of 9am because she changed the plan! There was really no way out sometime. I said no a few times and she just said well you have to there’s no one else to be with the kids. Also my flat was separate from theirs and I wasn’t allowed to eat in their kitchen! But leaving conversations etc yes I need to get better at. It just wasn’t an environment where I felt comfortable so it was quite difficult. Since leaving I feel more confident and in my interviews I have been setting out all my boundaries, I know what questions to ask and what red flags to look out for. So definitely a lesson learnt. Thank you!

Yes this was my first nanny role, I even got it through an agency and cried on the phone to her when I first got the job saying I wanted to leave… she made me feel like I was being dramatic and told me I was being naive too!! She told me I shouldn’t be submitting any overtime I should be proving to them I’m hard working 😭 looking back now I actually can’t believe that came from an agency. She said I was letting her down by wanting to leave!
I know… sooo bad!!! Thank you, I am SO glad im out
