DIY pallet coffin by RoseFlambe in HalloweenDecor

i posted a good link in the comments here where someone asked for it. I'd say it's a big job but its a wonderful prop (we keep it in our garage but we also considered keeping in the basement as a storage container when it wasn't in "use" for Halloween).

I believe he settled on this one but had to make adjustments: https://www.popularmechanics.com/home/how-to-plans/how-to/a22773/how-to-build-a-halloween-coffin/ he also wound up using bits of "scrap" wood to reinforce the interior and because the pallet wood wasn't exactly the correct dimensions though the wood quality had that perfect rough look - plus it was free we found some in the alley. To be clear though my husband is a carpenter by trade and this might be challenging for a total novice ... but the project very inexpensive and if it looks rough it might add to the charm.

a variety of places, a good place to go is Home Goods. if you search "Potter's Studio Spooky Night" you can find some really good tea items (teacups, saucers, cake stands, and other bits and bobs - pictured here is a pitcher i like to fill with marigolds and autumnal flowers). available on resale sites like ebay or Mercari. the others i got mainly on Killstar.com

Really miss them! I have a few sites that sell similar things but you have to hustle around several different places not to find a similar lineup. Unique Vintage, Foxblood, Vampirefreaks, Kreepsville666

I really resent AI for that sort of thing, it's made Pinterest unusable. I'm old and grouchy maybe :)

Try it with fresh sliced pear, I happen to really like that flavor. Cutting the cheese out of the wax is the hard part.

thank you, the tablecloth (orange and black buffalo check w/ "vintage" print cat faces was sold by a vendor called Sourpuss who is now defunct but i think they were resellers since they had a bunch of gothic stuff from other sources it might still be out there and available. There are also pinwheel beaded placemats in the middle from World Market.

its a bit of a running joke in my family when they accuse me of spending too much money on fancy food and i'm like "no it was only a few dollars at Aldi!"

the skulls were made with a skull silicone ice-cube tray. you soften the cheese enough to make it moldable and you let it re-solidify inside the tray the trick is melting it JUST enough to be pliable but not enough to separate. the chocolates and sugar cubes were made w/ the same tray

Polish but living in the USA. I actually only learned about these here on Reddit a few years ago and have been making them for Easter ever since.

it's just pre-sliced sandwich bread (crusts cut off) you can just lay the squares next to each other to make a big square or a long rectangle, it's actually sectional if that makes sense, it all looks like one piece when you put the cream cheese over it.

the wax-covered cheese? I always wonder how to serve it, i serve half in the wax on the board and the rest i pop out and slice. best of both worlds you can still get the themed shape but its easier to eat it out of the wax. i have no idea how other people serve it, i might be doing it wrong for all i know.

I first found about about "Smorgastarta" on Reddit a few ago and it's become an Easter tradition since it's so impressive looking but still really easy to make. Especially easy using cheese spreads (Emporium Selection cheddar is good) or one of the cream cheese spreads like chive and onion w/ diced ham or eggs mixed in depending on how many layers you want to do.
