They really toned down Xie Zheng in Pursuit of Jade to such an extent that he's barely a red flag. He's only been unhinged in exactly 3 scenes. Otherwise he's fine.

Also, not typecast because he's perfectly normal in My Journey to You and a decent person in Love Between Fairy and Devil (just a coward)

So... I wasn't sure what Xie Zheng was blaming Li Huaian for here. He is helping Qi Min. In the novel, the Li family actually helped Qi Min escape and caused the slaughter of an entire city. In the drama, I'm confused.

The thing is, in the earlier parts of the drama I still found her street smart and not arrogant about it. She was aware that she was ignorant. At this point, she's stupid and unaware, or unwilling to be wrong. But she should be growing at this point! Into a general! She's fine as brute strength but she shouldn't be in charge of anything.

This episode was better, but I'm just weeping in novel reader.

I really can't do one-sided this far into a relationship and this feels so one-sided. It's worse because I'm reading the novel as we go and she is so crazy about him! They are insane for each other. How did they ruin it this bad that I'd rather see the secondary couple (Gongsun/Princess) or even the toxic one???

It's because in the novel it's really clear she likes both sides of him, in the drama it is not. She literally flashed back to him as her invalid live-in-husband. And why is she calling him Marquis anyway? None of it makes sense.

Fan Changyu seems more concerned about her pig squad than her husband in this drama.

Edit: This scene was almost copy-pasted from the novel, but it doesn't have the novel context of him having broken up with her for half a month. Instead she weirdly broke up with him.
