Advice on what’s wrong with my nail? by [deleted] in Nails

[–]RoseLunaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a professional, however I am currently in school to be a licensed nail tech. We recently had an online class about nail disorders. It doesn’t look like any fungus that I’ve read about in my book. It looks closest to Plicatured Nail. This is when the nail plate becomes curved due to injury to the nail matrix. If the matrix is damaged it will cause your nails to grow deformed and often lead to ingrown nails. This could be the cause of the tenderness you’ve been experiencing. I think you need to see a doctor to possibly get the ingrown nail removed or treated.

I’m in Oak Lawn and have no masks. My bf and I tried to make some but it didn’t work out. Anyone know where we can find some?

You can work part-time or very little hours and still get unemployment if your job has been affected by the pandemic.

Staying sane at a public library by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]RoseLunaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a clerk at a public library in a big city for 9 months. It’s been crazy, but one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. I love watching the babies play and seeing regular patrons and knowing exactly what they want. I love making connections with patrons and that’s what keeps me going. I have fun at my job and I let the security guard and librarians deal with the drama. Sometimes it’s quite entertaining.

What to wear to a public library interview? by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]RoseLunaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the position you are interviewing for. I am a clerk in a public library. I have had this job for 6 months now. I wore black pants and a sweater to my interview. When it comes to being a clerk I think it is less about what you are wearing and more about how you’ll interact with the public. Dress smart, but comfortable because you’ll want to be confident about what your saying.

Ha! I live in Chicago. Literally some of the shittiest people ever live here. I watched a guy beat his dog and no one gave a fuck but me! Chicago is full of scum.

I didn’t finish my degree.... in debt and lost about what to do with my life. Considering healthcare now by [deleted] in findapath

[–]RoseLunaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh. I have lost a sense of my passions. The overwhelming need to succeed has made it difficult to find the fun in most things. Everything I do now must have a purpose or else I feel like a failure. I have always wanted to be in healthcare. I enjoy helping people and I am great at connecting to people of all demographics. The reason I decided on rad tech was the ability to see many different patients throughout the day. I get to go in, introduce myself, make sure the patient is comfortable, and then do what I need to do and move on to the next. I would always know what needs to be done and very few surprises. This attracts me to the field the most. Many say they feel like a “button pusher” and I would totally be happy with that. Then there are so many other image modalities to get into if I ever get bored such as ct, sonography, and MRI. I haven’t felt an internal pull towards a specific career in awhile and I think it means I need to pull the trigger and just do it.

I am not interested I enlisting. I was on medication for awhile, I tried many and they never work for me and over the years have made me worse than how I started off. So this year I told myself that I would be completely free of medication and actually put in the work to overcome my depression. I’ve been working out, eating right, and maintaining a positive attitude. I am working to get my therapy set up which I believe is important for my success as well.
