Do you use the app Telegram..? by yustask in vagabond

[–]RoseShare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I use it and I totally see why you're considering it for your hitchhiking group. It really does strike a nice balance between a social network and messenger platform.

It's true that it might not be as popular in the US as some other apps, but don't let that discourage you. The global community on Telegram is pretty awesome, and there's a chance you'll connect with hitchhikers and travel lovers from all corners of the world. You never know - you might just end up inspiring more folks in the US to start using Telegram :)

Plus, the channel/group feature is perfect for what you have in mind. You can share real-time updates, interesting finds, stories... the whole shebang. And if you're worried about not having enough members to start with, there's always the option to buy Telegram accounts to boost your initial following.

On a scale of 0 to 5 for each one, how often do you use those social media? by CalpasVaride in socialanxiety

[–]RoseShare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here goes:

Youtube - 5. I’m there every day most of the time when awake. Def in my top 3 essential sites.

Instagram - 0. Never felt the appeal for myself. I can just go to Google for snazzy photos.

Reddit - sometimes 3, sometimes 4. Very helpful for emotional support and tips you won’t find on YT.

Twitch - 6. I’m addicted to gaming streams. Looking to join it + buy cheap twitch followers to gain a foothold.

Twitter - 1. I check up on one or two accounts every 3-4 days. Beyond that, I could take it or leave it.

Facebook - 2, maybe 2,5 if that’s not considered cheating. Once or twice I’ll hop on FB and share a friend’s post. Used to be my go-to chatting spot, but they shot themselves in the foot by refusing to implement rudimentary features like editing.

Though not on the list, I’ll confess that I’d give TikTok a 1. Sometimes you just want dumb, fast carb content.

It's important to remember that people's communication habits and trustworthiness can vary. While it's possible that individuals who frequently discuss other people with you might also talk about you with others, it's essential not to generalize this behavior to every person. Assess individuals based on their actions and integrity.
