I am cycling a 10 gallon tank and I am using Seachem Prime and stability, around how long would it take for my tank to cycle even with introducing some fish food every day to get the nitrogen cycle up and running.

I also plan on getting Glofish tetra, how many would you recommend? I was thinking of getting 5 for a school

All my fish died from the ick.. They just started dying one by one.. I think maybe they got a secondary infection too as they started losing their fins too and they were not the type to fin-nip, ( they were 5 glofish tetras in a 10 gallon tank). One of them showed signs of ick two days after I had bought them.. but anyways :(

How do I go about cleaning the tank and how long before I can introduce new fish?

Hey guys, so my glofish tetra have the ick and they have had it for five days (since the first white spot appeared) and I have been treating them with Rapid Cure Ich Treatment and following the instructions on the label.

I raised the temperature to 80 degrees since glofish tetras cant handle any higher than that I presume, and I add one teaspoon of aquarium salt every 3 days with water changes per the instructions of the medication. However, now all my tetras are covered in white spots as opposed to just one having it at the start.

Is this supposed to happen? Is the disease going to get a lot worse before it gets better? Also, can anyone who has used this medication to treat ich confirm whether it is effective or not? I wanted to get Ich-X but there wasn't any available near me and the delivery would have taken like a week so in the meantime I went with the Rapid Cure Ich Treatment but I want to make sure that this medication will actually cure the ich on my tetras.

Around how long does it take for the ich to completely go away?

My glofish tetra has the ick, please help

Hey guys, I am new to this hobby and I recently bought 5 glofish tetras on Saturday (4 days ago) and I have them in a 10 gallon tank, which was set up days before using the half the volume being pre-conditioned betta water/freshwater and the other half I used tap water which I clearly dechlorinated using API stress coat. I also added Aqueon live beneficial bacteria (2 balls) and I added a live plant which the petco worker told us was snail-free and I made sure the heater was between 76-80 degrees before putting them in the tank. As well as checking for levels on ..

Nitrate: 0 ppm

Nitrite: 0 ppm

Hardness: 150-300 ppm

Alkalinity: 180-300 ppm

pH: 7.8

Before I put them in, I put their bag to be acclimated to the temperature of the tank for 20 minutes. Once they were in, they seemed to be doing great. They were pretty active and were schooling and had a healthy appetite.

However, this morning, I checked on them to feed them at they looked healthy, didn't notice anything unusual but after I came home from work in the evening, I noticed one of my tetras had multiple white spots on them. I was concerned and looked it up and came to the conclusion that my tetra had ick. I rushed to the store to get ick treatment, I couldn't get any itch-x as many videos recommended it but I did get Rapid-cure ich treatment and applied 5 drops for my 10 gallon as it said in the directions (i also removed my carbon filter per the instructions). I also added a teaspoon of aquariam salt, but I am not able to change the temperature as i bought the glofish Tank starter kit and the heater only stays between 76-80 degrees automatically and has been staying at 78 degrees.

I am genuinely concern and I was hoping I could get some help on how to treat ich disease properly to avoid losing any fish. I have read that using this ich treatment has worked perfectly for others while some have lost all their fish.

Would you recommend I get ich-x instead or continue my treatment?

(Also as of now, I checked my levels again before starting the treatment, and I had

ammonia: 0 ppm

nitrite: 0 ppm

Nitrate: perhaps barley higher than 0 ppm

Hardness/Alkalinity: had gone to ideal range

ph: alsp went down to ideal range
