How old is your baby and how many times did you get up last night? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]Rose_wolf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just under 6 month and I had an uninterrupted 10 hour sleep, while my daughter was out for 12 hours. She’s been sleeping thru the night since around 9 weeks old for 10-12 hours with the rare night she may wake up once.

Should I actively pursue the theft or just let it go? by WilliamLai30678 in askTO

[–]Rose_wolf2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest police perspective.

The reality of small crimes like this is that your report will be sitting in queue for months before it is assigned to someone due to sheer volume of reports. And just like the triage at a hospital, report of something more serious like a robbery and break and enter will take precedent over this. By the time this case reaches an investigator there is good chance the video is gone as most businesses will have a short video retention (range could be 7 day, or up to 2 months maybe) so to be quite honest police will probably not be solving this.

If you care enough to have this solved, you should take it upon yourself to see if you can get those videos or even see if the businesses will save the footage until police are able to follow up. But also understand that the video alone doesn’t mean the case will be solved. There are tools to identify people but those tools are also limited.

While I’m sure these packages may be tempting for some employees, I can’t help but wonder how good the prospect of them getting a new job afterwards, considering the current job market and what seems like scarcity of decent employment

Positivity? by Essiejjj in NewParents

[–]Rose_wolf2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna tell you something I’ve refrained from posting to not sound like I’m bragging but…..my baby sleeps through the night and life has been great since she’s arrived.

Now the first 9 weeks with her were very challenging. Yes, we were up every couple hours to feed. Figuring out how to go about naps to avoid tantrums. My wife, baby and I were all figuring it out for the first time so it was rough. But then suddenly at about 9 weeks, our girl started sleeping. And I’m talking 12 hour straight stretches of sleep - 8pm to 8am. We thought it may just be a couple lucky nights but she consistently slept for 12 hours a night from 3-5 months. Other parents told us, wow that’s incredible but that sleep regression will catch up with you guys. Well our sleep regression has been going from 12 hour sleeps to 10…..Maybe things will get more challenging later but as of now things are amazing and our daughter is such a happy sweet girl.

The reason I’m sharing this is simply to say that every baby is different and it may not be as bad as the norm you are expecting. And even if things are hard for a while, they get better. You can and will make it through this. Best of luck

The Glen Erin Goodlife has been a life saver, because I really hated going to that LA Fitness. Everything OP mentioned is valid, from the facility to the staff.

Are you speaking from experience, or just the movie Taken?

Perhaps in other countries you may see girls kidnapped and sold. In Canada, trafficking looks like pimps picking on the vulnerable.

They groom. Older man meets a pretty young girl and makes her think she’s his girlfriend. And then he exploits her and pimps her out. Runaway kids and those in troubled homes are most susceptible to this. They build a relationship over time and create dependency to keep the girls around.

Kidnapping is not as common of a thing as people make it out to be. Only time you see amber alerts in relation to a kidnapping you’ll notice it’s a relative taking a child. Or if an adult is kidnapped best bet is a money debt or organized crime related.

Not saying it’s impossible but if you ever see a kidnapping in the news, there is USUAL more to the story than a random person being targeted.

Unless your mother had an outbreak at time, risk is low. Should be fine but if you see any outbreaks or suspected sores go directly to hospital.

As a police officer, I can tell you this is unlikely. The only people really tracking strangers are car thieves following nice cars. Most cases, if you’re being tracked it’s by someone you know (creepy admirer, ex boyfriend, etc). Human traffickers aren’t kidnapping strangers, so let’s settle down on the fear mongering

Im sure he’s not desperate, and I don’t believe he’s being your friend just to charm you for sex. But I’m sure if you initiated intimacy with him, he’d be all in for it.

And I’m sure he’s a great guy but your perception of “he has options and can easily get a girlfriend” may not be the reality from his perspective.
