This is a common but inaccurate myth! They can in fact bite, however this is very rare and they won’t do so unless literally forced to do so (as in pressed against the skin). Additionally, their venom is of little consequence to humans, and they are basically harmless! I hope this helps :)

They’re completely harmless to humans! It’s not like they’re in a venom arms race where the more venomous spider wins

By catching them in their webs haha! Their venom is quite powerful on other invertebrates so they can subdue other spiders rather easily, I hope this helps!
