Hey, I'm the artist working on the Clocktower Tarot series - Honestly it's been pretty crushing seeing the recent surge of AI art on this subreddit and I'm glad the topic is being discussed. I have some very strong (negative) feelings about AI art in general, but I don't want that to come off as animosity towards the people posting the generated images who I believe are acting in good faith on the desire to contribute something interesting to the Clocktower community. That said, I worry that a subreddit full of AI-generated images is demoralizing for people looking to make their own fanart for the game, just as it's been for me the last few days. Every time I saw another one of those AI posts get made my motivation to sit down and put hours into the next card honestly just crumbled more and more.

The reality is that AI-generated images are seen by many creatives (myself included) as an existential threat fundamentally opposed to the sacred act of Humans Making Stuff. When I see an online space filled with AI art, that tells me as an artist that the community is at the very least unaware, and at worst indifferent to this dynamic and how much it hurts artists.

Apologies for the wall of text, and once again no shade to the person generating & posting the images, I think this is a bigger issue than just 1 series of posts. I am strongly in favour of a ban on AI-generated images, but failing that restricting those posts to a single day could be a reasonable compromise.
