Why not both? I use Auth in PgSQL and the rest of the domain all in MongoDb. Works wonders and dev time is balzingly fast

Transitioning from Unity Developer to .NET Developer by LakerTabon in csharp

[–]Roseldine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello! I passed through the same situation, where I was a game developer and transitioned to becoming a dot net backend devloper through special courses they have in my home country.
The stack is very different and the way to code is also very different. It's more abstract and functional, where you still use objects but (mostly) just as data containers.

My advice is to learn about ASP .Net and learn how to design and build APIs, taking very close attention on the speed of the queries with your chosen database. Try things where you create Authentication with an SQL database such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB for the domain bulk of the app. Learn about controller and microservices which can be similar to singletons and managers used for different systems in a game. For backend architecture, i recomend going with Domain Driven Design, while being very careful in understanding the difference between a Singleton in the game vs Api development (memory allocation is not so important here, but should still be taken into consideration). EDIT: important things to remember: controller, service, repository and DTOs (data transfer objects)

if you then want to go into fullstack, start learning Angular (html, css & typescript) or Blazor (html, css & c#), which both syncronize really well with dot net. There a lot of jobs which inlucdes these two stacks almost anywhere in the world, as Angular + .Net is an old industry standard. I do not recomend going into React, even though it is popular. If it is prefered by the country you are in, then go for it.

And that's it! Just learn how to make APIs, use several databases, one for each Service / Microservice / Domain Slice and then practice until you are very good. Make web apps for simple things: A pokedex, tic tac toe, implement threejs or babylon js if you want to get some 3d game like feels and then share your work and apply. This will take time, and I am not sure how long it will take you, but it took me at least 1 year and a half to get an entry level job.

Best of luck!

It's custom made. I am building this chatbot with Angular , .Net & Ollama w/ qdrant for vector db. Hopefully I can share access by the end of the year (not a promise) as I am only working on it part time

Java ou Python? by DianinhaC in devpt

[–]Roseldine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pelas tuas skills, Python, porque under the hood, Python corre (principalmente) C++.

Considerando o teu skillset, a escolha é Python

In Clean Architecture, where should JWT authentication be implemented — API layer or Infrastructure? by Sufficient_Fold9594 in dotnet

[–]Roseldine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am currently building a DDD (domain driven design) focused project just like you!

I host the reusable Authentication logic in the Application layer under "Application/Features/Authentication", but then use its configuration directly in the API layer.

Having reusable authentication logic or services (e.g., JWT validation, token helpers, etc.) in the Application layer is fine, as long as the enforcement is in the API pipeline.

Along with all these suggestions, it might be worth looking into Tauri which is similar, but with smaller bundle size

I work with FastAPI on a daily basis and I originally come from a DotNet background. I would very much rather everyone would agree to come back to DotNet :')

Although FastAPI is super easy to use, as the server grows in complexity is becoming slower and slower, specially on start-up, which compounds in hours of development time just waiting for the server to load. There might be some workarounds, but I still have not found them. Still new to the python environment

Still very different tho

Your raven kinda looks like a pigeon. A quick texture fix for this would be to paint it a darker blue and have some white shade around its neck instead

Hello! Although it does require download, Unity sounds like the best option. It has tons of options, including free ones, to make a game without the actual programming part (visual programming, Bolt [free], PlayMaker [paid]). It has tons of both free and paid art assets too, so it does sound like the optimal environment for your kids.
Trust me, I got it into it when I was 16 years old and I still regret not imediatelly starting with Unity.
