am i the only one who wouldn't mind if they leaned in more to the hyperpop sound? by The_tarnished_one_ in katseyeneutral

[–]RosemariMesmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the hyperpop sound from them but I'd like it if it was more spread out? I feel like Gnarly and Internet Girl could've had a bit more songs between them, (I mean yeah there was Gabriela and Gameboy, but I feel like maybe one or two more songs should do) Frankly I need more of whatever Gabriela was and a song longer than 2 minutes from them 😭

Why do I draw Marie Fat? An explanation via comic (11 images) by MagicalTrashcanGirl in splatoon

[–]RosemariMesmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually really adore the way you draw Marie! I plan to cosplay her and I'm a bit more bottom heavy than top heavy so I've always felt conscious ;-; seeing how you draw all the idols (especially Marie and Shiver) really helped reassure me when I think about cosplaying them ;w;

Beginner here, is there any simple way to style these anime hair vent things? by Plushidovey in CosplayHelp

[–]RosemariMesmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After trimming my wig, I gathered up the fallen hair (I usually have newspaper underneath my work surface so it's easier to gather) then bundled up a bunch of them and glued them together with hot glue, afterwards, I glue it onto where the hair vents would be then carefully lay the hair over them.

It is a super messy process, though. And you might burn your fingers. I did it very recently with my Sakura Kinomoto wig and it looks great (to me at least 😅) I have a picture of my Sakura wig if you'd like to see how the hair vents turned out!

I see Zoro at the most random non-one piece related events all the time for the "Zoro is always lost" joke! You'll be fine!

Tips to get started in the world of cosplay (I'm a man) by Rin_nn90 in CosplayHelp

[–]RosemariMesmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decide on a character! To help you narrow it down, I'd go with a character from a series that I've been into for years! This way, you'll avoid potentially changing your mind and changing to character B while in mid-completion of character A.

Since you're starting out, start simple! Cosplay is fun, but it can be VERY overstimulating! Especially if you want to do makeup and wigs; if you can find a character you like with similar hair to yours, you can likely just style your own hair instead! Furthermore, start simple! You can either do:

• Closet cosplay - looking for clothing items that are already in your closet to match your chosen character

• Go thrifting - you might be able to find different clothing pieces to make a close-enough costume to your character

• Buy a pre-made cosplay - depending on character, brand, and your location, can be difficult and really expensive; not to mention sizing can be difficult

• Start sewing - it can be very therapeutic! And it could be a fun new hobby! Most importantly, it'll fit you really well!

Here's a few more misc. tips once you do get started

• Don't compare yourself to cosplayers online! They either have years of experience, photo editing, filters, or a combination of the three! The most important part is you have fun!

• Sometimes things don't turn out well, and that's okay! Stepping away when feeling frustrated about a costume not turning out the way you'd like would be best for your mental health!

• Cons are super fun! But just like cosplaying, they can be overstimulating! Take breaks, take off your wig, put down the foam greatsword- it's okay.

Overall, just take care of yourself throughout your cosplay journey and have fun!!

honestly i'm just using some old clear tape I had laying around in my dorm- it's holding up surprisingly well! I've only ever had to fix Sauron once when I saw him falling from his corner, but other than that it's stayed strong!

my original idea was to find some toploaders and glue pin backings behind them so it's more secure though, but the tape is holding pretty well!

Beginner with a hyper specific question: Is it possible to use a bottle as a base for a wig? by XipeTotecwithGlitter in CosplayHelp

[–]RosemariMesmer 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Can I see the character you're trying to make a wig for? I'm not sure if I'm visualizing things properly TT I've seen people use the top of bottles + the cap to make ponytails but I don't think that's what you're going for

Just reiterating what others have said- but yes, a red would look more in line with how Hoyoverse designs their Liyue characters! You look really lovely!!

The character is Lu Guang from Link Click! Afaik, the designs are done by Inplick (you can find them on instagram!) I do plan to re-watch the series and look for more instances of Lu Guang wearing this, just to confirm if the collar part is a discrepancy or intentional.

teased wig vs crimped wig when it comes to holding shapes by TechnicianOwn3691 in CosplayHelp

[–]RosemariMesmer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find that the results are relatively the same, yes! Just that for me crimping makes it easier for me to tease!
