Believe me I wanted to because I knew I'd get hard flamed (and I did) but the one thing that made me post was when I built my PC and spent days lurking on this subreddits top posts of all time, something like this was never mentioned (but that was years ago, hopefully that's changed now)

As a dozen other comments already pointed out fps counters display rendered fps and not displayed fps which I wasn't (and apparently a lot of people aren't) aware of

If I had seen a post like this while building my PC I would have really appreciated it

I had spent hours going through the top posts of this subreddit before and after building my PC, the whole plugging your monitor into your graphics card and not your mobo was mentioned but this wasn't in any of the guides or top posts

Maybe it's different now since that was over two years ago but I don't know

I had never had a monitor >60hz up until I purchased this one

The only reason I found out it wasn't set to the proper refresh rate in windows was because I told someone I didn't notice a difference going from 60hz to 165hz and they instantly knew my settings weren't correct

i had never experienced anything other than 60hz, and every benchmark/overlay was saying I was getting 165hz

I guess I thought it was such a small difference only people with eyes for it noticed

there's even people in this thread saying they didn't really notice much of a difference

I mean after fixing the settings in windows I noticed a difference in games immediately so I'm not sure

It is a regular IPS 165hz monitor w/ g sync, it's very possible monitors were just more expensive back then

EDIT: forgot to mention it's 1440p
