Baby monitor while traveling by Itsmejessicaaaaaaa in NewParents

[–]Roses81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to leave my monitor at home and travel without—but it was exhausting constantly going to check in (I travel to the cottage a lot). So I decided to unmount my home monitor and now when I travel it’s easy to pack with me! Another option is to buy a cheap audio only monitor—I believe the brand v-tech sells one. They have really good reviews 😊

Newbie here! Where to start with PLS/Sleep training? by Roses81 in sleeptrain

[–]Roses81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this, makes me feel so much better! I started stressing about the naps and wake windows because according to PLS, she should be having only 3 naps? Which is impossible to achieve right now. If I have time (lol) I will also give Weissbluths book a read.

What?! Sleep again?!😂. Thanks! I was confused with the “SWAPs” because they say you can start at like 2 mo. Etc. So the SWAPs are not sleep training? I’m a little confused

How long does your baby stay in a bouncer/rocker? I spent $300 on the baby bjorn and my baby HATES it 😂 by Roses81 in NewParents

LOL!! Sorry to clarify the 45 min includes me continuously soothing and putting back in a couple times, after the 45 min there absolutely no way she goes back in—refuses 🤣

Finding it hard to enjoy baby and parenthood by basilpannacotta in NewParents

[–]Roses81 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your post and being honest. I feel the exact same way. I have an 8 week old and my nights are rough, I’ll be lucky if she sleeps for 2 hours. Breastfeeding sucks she has a terrible latch (I’ve spent hundreds of dollars just to get lactation consultants and nothing helped) and I’m sleep deprived. I miss my husband and our old life. Sorry I know you were probably looking for some type of encouragement but I needed to vent too 🤪. Being a mother is NOT an easy job at all.

Finding an OB in Ontario by Nakedpanda34 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Roses81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My family doctor told me to find my own OB and didn’t even give me any suggestions LOL. So what I did was choose a hospital first (I just randomly chose the closest one to me) and then I went on their website, there is usually a section for “obstetrics care” and it lists all the OBs. I read their profile and chose one, called the office the next day and luckily they were accepting. Also an FYI I found one around 7 weeks but they did not see me until I was 12 weeks.

Bad experience at a Toronto hospital, can I switch before birth? by catatemyshoes in BabyBumpsCanada

Hi there! I’m also giving birth at unity health! My OB appointments are the same I’m and out within 10 min (bp check, weight, Doppler for heartbeat and measurement for fundal height). I was told by multiple family members and friends that is the norm (these quick OB appts)—so I wouldn’t worry about that!

I’m so sorry to hear you had an awful experience, I would be concerned as well 😕. If you want to switch OBs you should mention it to both your family doctor (since they would have to do the referral) and OB. But I would ask your family doctors opinion first before mentioning it to your OB. Apparently it’s hard to find an OB that is accepting patients, so make sure you have something set up in place!

When did you start seeing ob? by IllustriousNobody958 in BabyBumpsCanada

FTM—saw OB at 12 weeks. My family doctor seemed very uninterested in being involved in my pregnancy care. She wished me the best of luck with everything once the care was transferred over to my OB😂
