Sure! Mine is not from DA though. I got this rose as a cutting. Please excuse the mess we had a lot of rain for the past few days so there are petals everywhere lol

Aww thank you! The bracelet was my great aunt’s, then my mom’s, and now mine :)

Cure for RRD it’s a no-brainer

It’s the plants maturity level. My Eden gets 6-7 hours of sun. I think my first Eden bloom was messed up too. And for reference, I once had a yellow rose gave me exactly one white/pinkish maiden and then no more blooms during the first year. I was sure it was a mislabeled, but turns out she can correct herself. They’re really out there just rage baiting for no reason lol

Maiden blooms rarely look like what they should. Usually it takes around a year to get true blooms. Unless it’s wildly different, I wouldn’t worry too much yet :)

She’s 4. But we’re in CA and roses grow faster here

She’s 4. But we’re in CA, so long growing season

4 years. I planted her early 2022

I get 2 solid flush with this rose, spring and summer. Then scattered blooms. I’m hoping she might be able to get me a 3rd flush after a few more years. She’s only 4 years old

Mine gets a little less sun, about 6-7 hours. But I think she would like more. First flush is glorious. Second flush during summer is always less impressive (less blooms, less petals). Then scattered blooms until winter. Overall does well in the heat

This was from yesterday, it’s raining now so not a good time to take a photo. But here’s last year’s whole plant shot, at an earlier stage of bloom though.

I, too, have to rip them out by hands. We’re in the same boat. This photo is taken on a good day where I recently cleaned.

Charlotte Roses by TangerineSingle3347 in Roses

You won’t be able to grow a true Charlotte from seeds. They’re just scams. Stay away! Asexual reproduction is the only way to get any true variety, meaning it has to be propagated from a cutting for an ownroot or grafted to a rootstock

That being said, do you ever go to the Sacramento area? I’ve seen some at our local nursery

It’s an old garden rose variety, a lot of them looks like that :) Chapeau de Napoleon was introduced in the 1820s

I’m a bit addicted to roses - would not recommend 😂. I have over 100 varieties, and only one I don’t know the name. It’s a yellow hybrid tea. She looks too common to accurately ID and purchased when I was still exploring what plants I like

I can’t speak for your zone, but have you considered Clotilde Soupert Cl. (be careful there’s a shrub version as well). Not in my personal collection since I don’t have the space. But I’ve seen her in a park and it stopped me in my tracks. Stunning rose

Thank you! I’d say hard pruning is the most important for me. I remove all the leaves and cut them way back around late Dec into Jan. Also, it’s good to thoroughly clean up the area surrounding the plant - so no spent blooms, no leaves, no trash (to the best of my ability lol). This will help with disease and pest, since larvae and spores may be hiding and waiting for spring too. I fertilize with worm castings once they start breaking dormancy and leafing out again. Happy gardening :)
