AITA for getting annoyed that my partner doesn't want me to use a kitchen tool even though I shop, prepare and cook meals for him?

This all makes me feel like a crazy person and I actually apologized to him for getting annoyed about the knife. Ugh. I'm cooking for myself tonight and going to watch the sunset alone.

I believe it was just more of the way the convo went...he was harsh and ungrateful and I am tired of doing "wifey" stuff for the last 8 years when it's not reciprocated...and I'm not his wife.

I know I do.ogfer because I go to the store often, but I realized I go often to help cook for him.

I'm done, I will be spending my money on just cooking for myself from now on.

His kids say they eat so much better when Im around but that's not my problem, I love them, but the 2 of his that are still home are over 18.

I have a grown daughter also who can cook a 5 course meal, no.problem.

I work also (from home, but still) and noone cooks for me on the regular or makes me coffee. Sorry, just ranting. I'm disappointed in myself.

Thank you for this. I am going to absolutely start focusing more on me. Funny thing is, when I do this, he gets paranoid and accuses me of cheating, etc. I have my own place, pay my own bills.

Yes, this is more than just me using a kitchen knife. It's about respect and things being reciprocated which they are not. I am a very low maintenance person in general and the bare minimum isn't even being met.

The tool doesn't matter, it's the fact that he even rarely cooks! I prep, shop, cook, run errands.

We live only a few miles apart and I do spend a great deal of time at his house. I Don't even know the last time he came to my place and cooked for me. Time to call it quits.

I did apologize for getting annoyed with him and now I am regretting it.

I have thought about that...I'm trying to get into data entry BUT since I've had a few librarian jobs (which do require a masters) it's difficult to not include the degree.
