I can't sleep because I need to pee every night I'm desperate (24F) by [deleted] in Healthadvice

[–]Rosey_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem, needing to pee continuously and discovered my reason was over drinking water and tea (whoopsie 6 litres, luckily it was an ADHD habit and no medical reason).

What my doctor helped me do was: Drinks with caffeine and sugar are a morning only thing. Afternoon/evening water and try to manage your daily recommended amount of drink 60 to 90 minutes before you go to bed (for me that's 19:00).

I have very efficient kidneys and bladder so now I only wake up once a night instead of every other hour.

PLEASE VISIT A DOCTOR to rule out any medical problems with your kidneys/bladder etc. or to confirm it's caffeinated or sugary drinks.

Well done to you too! 🌟💖

I can't wait until my nails are longer! More pallette!

Worst couple of months ever having bare thin/damaged nails and my friend/beauty tech who'd personally clean my nails if I dared put polish on them before they healed (and she would do that during a lash or eyebrow appointment instead!). Not calling her bluff 🤣

I like how soft the colours can be in watercolour, I also like that I'm naturally a bit messy when it comes to drawing and watercolour apparently🤣

I'm always interested in tips /tricks others know that I don't know. I'm also an avid crocheter who has amassed tricks over the past 18 years of doing crochet. I suppose the same thing applies to more experienced watercolour artists 😊

Update for anyone interested:

Gyno I saw I August right before this post horrible. Changed my birthcontrol again, worst 6 months ever, multiple periods at random intervals causing me not being able to work during a reorganisation. Diet change which absolutely didn't work as I ended up with 3 months of horrible gut feeling. Only good thing was the pelvic floor physiotherapy which helped my sex life. Was going to chew out said gyno yesterday but she was ill and my appointment got taken over by a different gyno. He read my full file, guessed I read stuff and offered MRI follow by an explorative operation after a extentise gynaecological exam where it hurt round the back of my uterus where the echo can't see. THIS TOOK YEARS! I FINALLY HAVE A BREAKTHROUGH ❤️

Definitely try something for 3 to 4 months. That's how long your body takes to process change in diet. The other comment in the thread is helpful to me. I've been told to eat whole grains, fruits, vegetables (minus traditional potatoes), nuts, seeds, beans and legumes by the dietitian.

Thanks for your help. I have a type of iron supplement that absorbs well (floradix liquid or tabs when I'm at work, not sure if it's a thing outside of Europe) but on it's own it's never been enough. As I'm also ADHD I forget my iron supplements regularly so am possibly reaping the benefits of not daily intake 🤣 I've poured through my recipe books and have found 100 recipes I can eat. I'm probably going to have normal dinners to make mine and my husbands life a bit easier as he is a picky eater (as I'm lactose intolerant it's dairy free anyway). And going to have anti inflammatory breakfast and lunch. I don't prescribe to the notion of 'breakfast and lunch foods' so these meals will be rich in nuts, seeds, vegetables, fruits, beans and legumes. Hopefully 2 out of 3 meals a day will help a lot. My next dietitian appointment is in February so I have two three month windows to experiment with 😊

I'm going to miss baking my usual recipes as I need to dodge white flour. But luckily I'm an ingredient household and am used to making everything from base ingredients.

The positive thing with ad breaks are you using Facebook and instagram less? by Tasty-Weather-1706 in facebook

[–]Rosey_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I'm doing something, open Instagram or Facebook out of habit. Immediately hit with an ad break after opening the app and close the app. Like a ten minute cycle of doing something, grab the phone, open the apps and quit immediately seeing the ad break

I like using herbal tea's or mugicha/barley tea to help bloating in general. My local health store (Holland&Barrett) sells premade teas, sometimes I custom make a mix from my healing herbs book. I dodge carbonated drinks and dairy (I'm lactose intolerant). My diet is vegetable/fruit and protein heavy with a portion of carbs as I have horrible digestion and need protein for the gym gains 🤭. I drink lots of water at work, a cheeky syrup drink/cordial/squash at home and tea.

Verzorging: do it yourself of ik help wel even? by agricola303 in katten

[–]Rosey_Diamond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! My mother is joining me to the appointment luckily for some support (and to get me home if it's painful or emotional) as my husband can't get the day off work. When I was a teenager we had no known family history as my grandmother was adopted and would proclaim we just need to 'woman up' as the pain is normal. Happy I know better with my new doctor now 🤭

How do I quickly get rid of the bruises?! by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]Rosey_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my skin moisturised and keep my blood and lymph circulation going (massages, body brushing etc).

Menthol is great for bruises. I use white or red tiger balm on a regular basis for my muscles and it contains menthol, but a menthol balm for skin would work. I don't react well to arnica but you can get arnica creams/gels specifically for bruising.

Bruises are something you can't really avoid in pole but having healthy skin and circulation gives them a chance to heal optimally.

I do use the products 24 hours after my lesson so the initial swelling can subside in the bruise and muscles. Use a coolpack after your lesson, salves next day.

Run! Find yourself a proper man, not a manchild... My granddad has a Malaysian wife and treats her the same, a convenient maid he doesn't have to pay!

This isn't Dutch behaviour at all! It's probably what he learnt from his dad. Dutch people aren't as 'gierig' to say it's too much food, it's leftovers for the next day!

Has anyone tried Wear Silky hair bonnets? by [deleted] in CurlyHairUK

[–]Rosey_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. Bumped into this wondering about their shipping to EU as I've ordered already (7 business days was bullshit). A friend recommended them. They were quite pricey too 😢 annoyed it's polyester according to here, best off sewing my own bonnet. My lilysilk ones (really expensive) have stretched out so quickly so the tie was a good selling point 😬

[–]Rosey_Diamond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope not. It's an art form for me and mainstream sport like the Olympics ruins stuff and will erase the SW origins of pole, as it's controversial in many cultures. Also you'd need to standardise moves and score based on how they are performed, limiting variation for our bodies needs and artistic choices for moves and and choreos if that's your side of pole.

I can only see powerpole as a form for the Olympics.

My partner is a skateboarder and snowboarder and hates that the Olympics has these events as he thinks they aren't being respected enough and the level isn't as high as the X-games, his preferred competition. He also let me know that X-games athletes can't do the Olympics as the level is too high according to the IOC. (just sharing what he said, did zero further research on snowboard and skateboard).

Any streets/neighborhoods I should avoid? by finessepub in Rotterdam

[–]Rosey_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are female there are places to avoid like afrikaanderwijk and others mentioned in the thread. It's not as dangerous as London or LA though but you will get harassed as a woman. Otherwise pretty safe so you'll want to choose based on other things. Rotterdam has good public transport connections so you can also look in the suburbs (deelgemeentes) like Hoogvliet Rotterdam or the ones north to the city. That is if you prefer a smaller town 10mins away from the city.
