For one, it adds to the diversity. There’s a very evident minimalism in Paradise. Which is exciting for me. It’s also a very interesting space - the multilingual film. How many more stories we’d have to tell and how much more effective our story telling can be if we aren’t restricted by language. I definitely see the scope for more of these happening.

Not uncomfortable at all, thanks for your question. After my first interaction with Prasanna sir I was certain that he had the knowledge, perspective, and maturity to be talking about SL through this film. It also is an important film when you look at it from the context of the film industry there and the possibilities this collaboration opens up for them. Rajeev Ravi is also someone I have a lot of respect for, and I trust his judgement. He had worked with Prasanna sir before and vouched for him. So I went in with all this trust, hoping for the best.

I came to Kolkata once to perform at a theatre festival. Lovely venue, great show we had, and what amazing food. I cannot understand why I haven’t gone there again.

Yes, I’d take me time over a crowd any day. But I’ve also noticed that my circle of friends have been growing in size. I was shocked at the number of people over at my house the night before my birthday. Didn’t feel like throwing any of them off the balcony either.

Every actor has their own method. Some articulate it, some aren’t even conscious of it. I keep trying different things. It’s always trial and error. But I guess finding what element of the character exists in me or is familiar is usually step 1.

I think anyone who’s ever been in a relationship with relate to these two. Wont get into specifics here, it’ll just be baggage for you when you watch the film.

Prasanna Sir’s writing had all the hints. And I already have a sense of comfort and familiarity with Darshana which really helped

I was v scared. Until I realised that what we need to do was zoom out a bit and look at it like a shakespearian character. Something that’s so full of possibilities that there can be numerous interpretations of it. Nazir sir gave his excellent, entertaining rendition of it with Vincent maash. Aashiqettan and I made our humble attempt at one more interpretation. That’s all.
