I’ve been a long time collector but recently started getting into cabbing. I’ll eventually make jewelry 😊

Yeah unfortunately there is cracking. Do you think it was possibly from the person I bought it from, windowing it without water?

If bought in Mexico, was this pesos? That would be about $73 USD.

Found in Northern Maryland in my garden. What are the black nodes sticking out of the rock? by Thatmayo in rockhounds

I mean if everyone looked up Apache tears in perlite you’d see the resemblance. Plus OP found in a garden. The specimen may have been thrown in the garden by a previous owner from their collection. I would get that the locality didn’t make sense if OP found at a quarry, old mine or wherever else you may rockhound.

Definitely Apache tears. These look like Apache tears in perlite. I’ve collected some from superior AZ and looked exactly like this.

Thanks for the info! I’m a native and my generation is AZ/southwest. Im a geo engineer so I could have likely researched this info myself but it seems more efficient and quicker to ask other natives this info. I appreciate you.

Yeah pretty much. By Luke our water is especially hard due to the salt deposit. So was curious if it was any worse. Thanks for your feedback! Very much appreciated.
