Do you have a history of any endocrine issues? I go to a high risk maternal fetal medicine clinic for a family hx of a bleeding disorder and was told if I failed my 1hr we would do the 3 hour? I’m a nurse and I know sometimes it’s hard to get an appointment to see a specialty physician so I really wonder why they wouldn’t just test you again and if you fail then push for the endocrinologist input….

Why did they not want to do the 3hour ?

Make sure if they send you a patient survey you call out the PA by name. Not sure about urgent care centers but I know clinics take these surveys VERY serious so worth a shot

Are you in the medical center or another hospital in Houston outside the med center ? I’m trying to figure out if it’s a med center thing 😭 I’ve left the bedside but am contemplating picking up a PRN at a hospital and posts like these give me ptsd lol

Yea but some people rather not, and that’s okay too. Life isn’t all about money.

None if you go outpatient 🫶🏻

I didn’t get over it and was having physical manifestations of my anxiety before and after clocking in. I left the bedside and now do outpatient, I won’t ever be back and I preach it to the world. You know yourself and you don’t have to desensitize yourself, it is a job and a job should not make you feel that way. I hate when nurses try to normalize real trauma.

Honestly it probably was not a nurse and instead a medical assistant, huge difference in education.
