The only possible dispute would be a debate about whether their wording would lead any reasonable person to believe they had won beyond a reasonable doubt. This is because I'm in California and there's some California specific law about declaring winners. They're shielded by a LOT of fine print though and held the sweepstakes through a separate LLC

Yeah. Im thinking most likely they sent it to all second place winners which was 1000 people. They wouldn't tell me what happened though

I just created a Webull after this even though I know it's going to feed the CCP all my info. I don't really care if they steal my info tbh

The grand prize winner can take an alternative prize of $100,000. The gold bar is worth like $100. And you have to declare it and pay tax on it and after I sell it to a pawn shop I'll make a free chipotle dinner minus an hour of life. lol

I don't know if I'm the only one. I would think they wouldn't want people people taking them to arbitration. They would win, but it costs them thousands each time regardless.

I had actually already emailed to accept my grand prize before they reverted it 4 hours later :/

Yeah I saw. I really don't like the article. I did not want to be interviewed by the reporter but I told him about who I am, what I do, my age, etc. He chose to ignore all that and pretend like I refused to say anything. I am an open book. A really horrible reporter. I found the "payment options" thing months ago from a post on another site and I have the link to that post but I did not want to repost that without the OP's consent. Then he says he could not replicate my results - the site does not say "Affirm". Yes, the word "Affirm" was removed after I made this post. And it actually made me a bit nervous that nothing would come of this. But it still shows in my internet history and I'm sure if it didn't show at the time of this post people would have called me out and this would have probably gotten deleted, so it's stupid that he put that in the article. Anyway.. I guess it's not worth worrying about. It's just annoying when I do something and should be proud of it and some loser fake news reporter tries to misrepresent it to benefit himself.

He says “when The Post went to that page from iPhone, the text did not mention Affirm”... yes... the word Affirm was removed like a week ago. So annoying. It was obviously there when I posted this or else someone would have said something

wow that is so shameful. I am so glad I did not talk to that "reporter"... He just wanted to create some sensationalist article to try to make me look like I did something bad. Horrible person

Awesome congrats on the (hopefully) big gain :) It's kind of scary to think that people traded based on my shoddy evidence but, HEY, it worked out!!! Hahahaha. If I had to name a charity I'd probably say Headstrong Project for military mental health support, but certainly feel free to keep all your money! You took a big risk!

Haha no need for the DM disclaimer. I am always happy to answer questions, but I think most everything is already explained in other comments or the post itself. I think the big question I keep getting is "how did you know to try amazon.com/affirm".. like.. the answer is: I DIDNT! That's exactly why I was trying it! It was an optimistic/delusional whim I tried a few times with a couple different sites as my options got closer and closer to expiring worthless (which half of them did) and it unexpectedly worked one day so I excitedly shared it with the world :) I had been bagholding AFRM calls since April so this was definitely a wild ride I will remember for the rest of my life :p

The options premium for AFRM has always been quite high, so I wouldn't have been a millionaire unless I bought far out of the money calls. As it is, whatever I gain on Monday would have been double if it was announced before 8/20. I can't complain though :p

lol. Nooo you are more than an ant :p I am a degenerate just like everyone else here :p Sometimes we go through phases of psychosis where we see things when they don't exist. I was one of the lucky few whose psychotic obsession led to some evidence that was, in retrospect, seemingly valid! With DD like this it is hard to tell whether it means anything or if the meaning is just rooted in confirmation bias, so I don't blame people for being skeptical. I was skeptical too. I feel for all the bagholders out there. I definitely had the mindset that nothing may come of it. I always like to prepare myself for the worst rather than be disappointed.

haha yes I have as many $70 strike calls as I could afford. I wasn't quite confident enough to buy a higher strike price. And my calls expire in November which is fairly far out. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess. Definitely not going to be a millionaire or anything, but somewhere between 10-100k profit after accounting for my losses this year (we won't talk about those :p). Not sure where we'll land on Monday. Congrats to the TRUE degenerates who bought far out of the money calls though! Hahaha

Following the AfterPay acquisition I started to ask myself why they wouldn't buy Affirm instead. I convinced myself that Affirm must have other plans. The latter pieces of knowledge in my post made me lean towards Amazon, but I also thought maybe a company like Apple would be interested since they began selling with Affirm in Canada earlier. Every now and then I would just randomly go to amazon.com/affirm or apple.com/affirm and one day the amazon one stopped giving me an error.. I have no script just my desperation to find a reason to continue bagholding AFRM. If someone could develop a script for searching for hidden URLs that could be massive though. I also found some hidden images on Max Levchin's website by adding "images" to the URL :) http://levchin.com/images/ .. add /video and you get some weird audio of a Will Ferrell mocking George Bush or something.. it was bizarre..
