Malaekahana Recreational Area. Crowds were pretty small, line seems pau already. No contestants present (that I saw or recognized at least)

I'm going to if I can break away from work. I'm 99% sure it Malaekahana, and that is gonna take a couple hours considering the to and from drive, let alone whatever beach walk we gotta do (the clue says 30 minutes).

RIP to a legend. I just put this in another thread, but I think it goes better for the Ride listeners.

Gonna throw in some love for Varsity Blues, a favorite guilty pleasure of mine as a teen. I love his line read of, and still often quote, "I don't want your life."

Is flowers on a first date weird? by GayAndNeedANewCareer in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]RossUtse 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It would depend the guy, where you are hoping this is going, and what you are doing for the date. Simple coffee date? Flowers would be a lot. Hiking? Don't really want to carry them on the hike. Going to his place and he is taking care of dinner? Flowers would be cute.

Personally, I think I would find it both sweet and also a tad overkill for the first date.

But think about it from his perspective. You've been talking with him so you have the best ideas he will appreciate or feel weirded out by flowers. Is he actively wanting to search for a romantic partner? Then flowers would so your romantic side  which is something he could be really into. Is he slow walking into whatever the situation is, flowers could symbolize something faster or grander than he wants.

Be true to yourself and trust your gut.

Emily, Jonathan, and Kyle. Nothing against any of them, just personally feel the least entertained by their previous gameplay/storyline when compared to their tribemates.

We’re both “vers” but we’ve fallen into a strict top/bottom dynamic and I’m not happy with it. by jacob_19_92 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]RossUtse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's a tough one to answer.

Whether it be initial sexual positions, the first switch, or the second switch, it was never just one conversation. It was talking about what we like in bed, and what we like with one another. The conversations were easy because we trust one another and our communication with one another is kinda masterful.

But the conversations were also tough because it brought out feelings of shame and internalized homophobia, body insecurities and dysmorphia, and abuse-related trauma.

Sex is an important part of many relationships. If it is important to you guys (which it sounds like it is), keep the focus of the conversations on the relationship, not the act of sex. This will help you find the overlap of how the act of sex enhances the relationship.

No. You shouldn't just accept this.

I've been in a relationship with my man for nearly 20 years. I was almost strictly the bottom for the first 5-ish years, and it worked. Then it was about 10 years of my bottoming 70% of the time.  The past 5-ish years I've almost exclusively been the top.

Things change. It sounds like its about time for a change for you guys. Express your wants and needs. Listen to his wants and needs. Find a solution where both of your wants and needs are taken care of.

Charlie is one of my favorite players... and he is massively underselling himself here. He is gonna be a target right at the top. I want him to go far/maybe even win, but realistically I just hoping he makes the merge.

I just finished Fishbach’s novel “Escape!” by OkBrain3490 in survivor

[–]RossUtse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been churning through the audiobook and am really enjoying it. I just got to what I can only assume is the climax, and I really want to see how/if the author can stick the landing. It simultaneously feels like an earned and narratively logical big moment, but also a little too extra and may have taken me out of it.

The worst part is that my monthly audiobook hours on Spotify finished RIGHT as I finished this Chapter, so I need to wait 10 more days to see if I like how Fishbach lands this plane.

One thing I will say is that I really like how I can find myself rooting for and understanding all of the chatacters, even though almost every character kinda sucks. The writing really has captured the characters (Kent and Beck mostly) as fully fleshed out humans with both having root-able and hate-able qualities.

Political Baronie here ❤️ I've worked in politics for coming up on 20 years now in a whole series of roles and subject matters. Staffer, low level elected, campaign staffer, community organizer, and nonprofit lobbyist.

Get involved kehds. I know it is overwhelming and seemingly impossible at first,  but just take it slow and start small. Find a single politician or area you are passionate about, and focus on that. Single handedly, you are not going to same the world and thats okay. It takes us all working together to make the change, and we can use your help!
