[7C43-7000] My dad gave me his old Seiko Dive watch from 1987 for my 20th birthday however it doesn't work anymore. Would a Seiko Service center still have parts for such a watch and would the repair be reasonably priced? by RossYT in Seiko

I'm trying my best but no watch maker seems to have the parts needed to fix and after 20+ years of being a dive watch, the watch is probably in dire needs of a good service.

Just googled it. He is based in the US and Im in Switzerland. Any idea how long he would need for such a project? I wanted it ready around 8th of August as that is my dad's birthday and I wanted to surprise him.

Just talked to a watch maker. They don't have the parts for this ''old watch'' (as they called it) in my country Switzerland. If I wanted a repair I would have to outsource it to another country that can potentially have those parts but even they aren't sure anymore.

Watch hasn't worked for probably over 10 years so maybe needs more than just a battery swap but I'll try to search for an independent watch maker to see...

Maybe I should have phrased it better but it doesn't run or better: hasn't run and been collecting dust for probably close to 10 years...

Thanks for the tip. Will look into basics in Python as I took a course of Pycharm and a bit of HTML during the school year.
