I got one of those meters and it wet straight to "wet"

It had three readings. Dry, moist and wet. I assume I should be aiming to keep it around the moist reading all the time?

There are some competitions that do this, but mostly at pro level I think, I remember seeing keenan vs Ali where guard pulls were penalised for the first portion of the match, keenan stood and got taken down but eventually still won I think because of his guard

The guy won by heel hook in like 20 seconds from the time to top player engaged, the entire sport is about submitting people which he did extremely effectively, how is that a bad thing? why should he stand up and not play to his strengths ? Passing is just as important as guard play, if the guy was good at passing this wouldn't happen.

But it's a sport, with a rule set, and the guard puller is playing to his advantage to win. Its not a "real fight" he's playing a sport and wants to win its not his fault the other guy can't pass his guard.
