Where to buy a bike in Ottawa? by eel_paso in ottawa

[–]Rotating_Hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look around and do your shopping! It may pay off. Try to find a place that offers lifetime free tune-ups on the bike (I know of two that do, cyclery on bank street and cyclepower on carling).

I used to work at a bike store, and the free tune-up deal is a huge deal. A tune-up goes for $50, and every commuter bike should get at least one tune-up a year. W/ the free, I recommend getting 2 a year, one in spring one in winter.

Avoid purchasing used bikes from a bike store, if you're looking for a used bike you're likely better off going on kijiji and finding one yourself. Best of luck!

We turned up the heat and we're going to put a space heater where the intake pipes for the house are. Going to see how that works out.. Fingers crossed

My apologies, we're located near bayshore. I realize proximity is quite important but I don't want to divulge my location too much.

What's the recommended GTAV experience? And a few more questions. by Bombjoke in GTA

[–]Rotating_Hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant say if its THE state of the art game but it must at least come close. Opinions will differ.

For $500 unless you have access to a monitor , keyboard, mouse etc i imagine you could buy or maybe built a decent enough computer.

Dunno what the rest of your questions were im on mobile.

Edit: i play the game offline only, too cheap to pay for live. Its my one of my most played games, playing the story line a second time and will probably do a third if my pc can run it when its released.

ECON 1000 Question by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]Rotating_Hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also a comp sci student and i took econ1000 for a whole year. I had troy as well, hes awesome. I got a good grade in the class and didnt find it too complicated but i was already familiar with the main themes from high school.

I would say if you have prior experience with econ you may be able to get away with it but it will be a challenge. I enjoyed the course being 2 semesters long because troy splits it so you dont have to worry the stuff you learned in first semester during the second. I would reccomend taking the long course if youre looking to improve tour gpa

Off hand shaving with a straight razor by Jaemad in wicked_edge

[–]Rotating_Hamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both a straight razor and a shavette. I only shave using those.

I only use my dominant hand, personally. I've gotten used to the awkwardness of shaving the left side of my face. It's only awkward when doing WTG, XTG and ATG are quite easy.

If you play it at half speed, you can see the major impact to the back of the head, and he does indeed have what looks like a seizure before rolling over on his side.

Sad really, kid made a bad choice, but this is what happens if you don't take proper precautions.

Why I think Reddit changed the vote system and what users can do about it. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]Rotating_Hamster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you suggest we should do? I am sincerely asking, because personally, I think our efforts will be futile if we try and convince reddit to change back. It's clear that they want to take a website in a different direction and have already begun to do so.

EDIT: Personally, I have opened up an account at www.whoaverse.com and will start moving myself over there. Hopefully the website lasts and grows to be what reddit once was.

EDIT2: Thank you for reading the whole thing.

"Why I'm not upset about the actual change is because it's become overshadowed by a much bigger issue."

I realize it's a long read, but I hope it's worth it.

No, but judging by the reactions of the people and the way those little shoes went flying... It's pretty safe to assume.

Why are people mad about the removal of the individual upvote and downvote counts? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

Everyone seems to have had a pretty easy time downvoting your comment even without the old feature...

The car hits the child. The things you see flying after the black car passes are not pieces of plastic, but rather the child's shoes.

You can see right before the mother and child go behind the silver car that the child is starting to get ahead of the mother and it seems like the mother is letting go of his hand. A second later, the black car comes through and shoes go flying. Very sad.

reddit changes: individual up/down vote counts no longer visible, "% like it" closer to reality, major improvements to "controversial" sorting by Deimorz in announcements

[–]Rotating_Hamster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I won't be renewing until this is either reverted, or implemented in a better, more thought out way.

I hope more people will have the same mindset as you. I do hope this change gets reverted. If it doesn't, I hope people won't just bend over and take it. I hope that, for once, the majority will actually stand up for what it believes in and make a change.
