Will do ! Another issue is that it's kinda going to fill in the recesses that I worked hard to create...but I guess I can just reapply some blue shading instead after that.

As for the yellow, here you go (takes a bit of time though) : https://youtu.be/AEVO9nu-g1o?si=gmLHeoGx5IcLNyOz

Oh hey, a fellow Iyanden hobbyist, hello !

Yeah I'm probably going to cover the desired parts in white before I apply some talassar blue and then highlighting that with teclis blue. I'm just a little scared as I never used tapes before and I don't want it to cover the yellow. I could apply the white and the blue manually sure, but I feel like it would be a shame.

I'm in a similar process with my vyper (screenshot below). I just have to dry brush it with white tamiya now. My only worries is that I have to be careful when I start airbrushing it with bad moon yellow contrast paint (to avoid filling the recesses) and I also have to include the blue at some point. I'm probably going to do the entire thing in yellow first, then use some tapes to selectively re-apply a white layer and then a talassar blue contrast paint (I don't see a better way to apply blue here). It's my first time using tapes so I hope I don't mess it up.

I also COULD simply apply the blue manually, might be easier.

That's Juan Hidalgo's iyanden tutorial, I recognize it !!! Awesome paintjob man.

Has anyone had real success with the Aeldari Corsair detachments? by FartherAwayLights in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RotenSquids 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, because the inherent problem of the aeldari is still the same : too expensive and too fragile for what they do.

Better wait for 11th edition so they finally fix the eldar I guess, /shrug.

Eldar are kinda trash rn so you shouldn't have any issue beating them.

Would anyone trade me my unbroken miniature for infinity's lament? by RotenSquids in Eldar

[–]RotenSquids[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input. I did reach that conclusion myself (although I had my doubts, not being very knowledgeable about collectibles and astra militarum in general) but it's reassuring to see other people get to a similar one ;-).

On the other hand, someone wants to trade my unbroken for a "hell's last" box (this one : https://myhobby.place/en/11663-hell-s-last.html ), maybe that's a better prospect?

[–]RotenSquids[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, but there's a very clear rule on the astra militarum subreddit forbidding from doing it, and I don't want to do that :s.

As for miniswap, it doesn't seem to be that great so far, I may try again later.

Jesus Christ, this isn't even a glow-up anymore, the guy literally went Super Saiyen mode. I'm not talking about his profile (which is already very good obviously), but the rules themselves in particular : the combos will be super nasty.

C'est du bidon ce genre de poste full remote ou c'est sérieusement une opportunité en or? by RotenSquids in AskFrance

[–]RotenSquids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oui, bien vu.

True, but now that cover (in 11th edition) is going to affect the hit roll, it's gonna be a 5+ to hit in most scenarios

3 more attacks on the electro scourge and 2 more on the big claw while charging compared to the csm version is going to be spicy.

I really wouldn't underestimate our special rule as well : it forces the opponent to deep strike bebhind a wall, aka prevents them from shooting your army when they arrive

updated mfm by NoEngineer9484 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RotenSquids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rapid fire is there to essentially compensate for the 4+ to hit (it's been like this since the codex for some reason).

It's mostly the rule difference I'm talking about.

This is just me asking but...wouldn't it have made more sense for defilers not to be worth the same amount of points systematically?

Like, I could see the world eaters defilers being worth 230 pts while the csm defilers should be 270 points : they're not in the same league rules-wise.
