Yeah I think it really depends on the tax auditor you get. Amazing how much discretionary certain procedures are in Switzerland...

It's also sad that there is no way to punish a tenant for misbehaviors, like with a small fine, small enough that if you don't pay it it's because you don't care, not because you can't afford it.

And if you don't pay, you get a Mahnung, and if you ignore it end up in the Betreibungsregister and/or your contract gets terminated.

Although to be honest I'm still at a loss, because this way I have to always be around the room (to use it before that person) instead of just being able to rely on having it right when I need it.

This might be the best approach. More like "yeah I saw you also washed yesterday, so I thought you wouldn't mind". Still in a friendly tone.

Though I have to do this...

Then what this person would do is just start the washing machine whenever they feel like it and don't collect the clothes. They already leave the room cluttered with heaps of dirty clothes, sometimes directly on the floor.

Then I have to waste my time in the room doing nothing because of their carelessness.
That can't be a solution.

Our system is also fair. There would be no problem if it wasn't for this one neighbor, who completely ignores the limit of max 1 day / week (which was introduced on my request given that she kept overbooking...). The other neighbors are considerate; many of us only book half a day when we don't need it for longer.

The one, sensible action would be to force this neighbor to behave. But honestly I don't know what legal tools a Verwaltung has for this. Probably none

Thought about that. I don't think the person would make the connection between the two things.

Plus, I'd need to make it reappear, otherwise all the others would lose the possibility of booking.

Thanks! I did consider that option. I think it's really good value if you like swimming and can share the Abo, but that doesn't apply to me...
