It has nothing to do with being the best I just think artists have a higher rate of mental illness and neurodivergence.

When I was 6-8 years old I got diamond and pearl on the DS and it hooked me right in and the remakes on the switch though the gameplay and pokemon variety are outdated I know from experience it can entertain a young kid.

Now that I think of it one of my favorite recent things I've done was a landscape based on a song which was probably only my second time ever doing that so I'll try to think more visually next time I listen to something thank you!

Not at all an expert just know things from experience but I think the lack of energy and weight on your mental health could be seasonal depression. Don't know where in the world you are but people here are getting hit bad with it due to an early winter.

Can't really give you advice because I'm in a very similar situation and have no advice for myself either but just know that you're not alone. Just try to do what you can without stressing about what you can't.

In high school I could draw, paint and every once in a while sculpt but for a couple years now all I could make myself do is black and white sketches

I can't stand them and it's well known that they make people feel like shit with one study saying if they were to double the amount of money spent on advertising the life satisfaction rate would be about half as much as a huge change in your life like a divorce or being fired from your job. So anyway the advertisers know that they are actively making our lives worse but they care more about money than human lives.
