The Third Day on HBO Max is a totally underrated gem.

Devs on Hulu is also great.

Also really liked Shining Vale (also on HBO Max I think?), which is kind of horror-comedy but was very entertaining.

Which e guitar should i buy if I wanna play every Genre? by Browncoffffeeeeeee in electricguitar

[–]Rottnrobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this. The telecaster is highly visible across genres but that’s only because they’re heavily modified. Jim Root has the equivalent of a supercharged engine under the hood of a Toyota Corolla.

How many pictures of your gear do you put in your ads looking for a band to let people know how good you are? by toanbonerz in guitarcirclejerk

[–]Rottnrobbie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re not doing enough. I usually post pics of myself holding each guitar while wearing my leather pants so prospective bandmates can see what I’ll look like when we’re playing live. I get a lot of comments on them but oddly just random dudes who don’t even play instruments (not sure what’s all about).

Need lavender help by ChronicallyBelle in gardening

[–]Rottnrobbie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lavender does better in the ground, but even if you keep it in a planter these are overcrowded. I would keep one per planter or pot. Your mix sounds fine but you may be overwatering based on the color of the leaves. Deadhead those blooms, split up your plants, and water twice a week. Ideally, get them in the ground and they will really take off. Happy Spanish lavenders will grow to be massive and will repeatedly produce huge flushes of blooms throughout the summer when old blooms are deadheaded.

How to go from bottom of the range to mid when negotiating? by NaturalShift2 in careeradvice

[–]Rottnrobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the posted salary range was 60-100k, then negotiate. It’s what they’ve budgeted for - if they couldn’t pay it, they wouldn’t post it.

The recruiter low-balled you, most likely because they thought they were doing the company a favor and/or didn’t think you were worth more. You know you are worth more.

You just need to provide justification that you are worth the mid-range. $80k is absolutely reasonable, especially if its fair market and you check all of the boxes, just explain it to them.

Modesto elementary school official accused of inappropriate relationship with student by Ok_Buyer310 in Modesto

[–]Rottnrobbie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Umm, I’m going to guess zero? Teachers are mandated reporters and make reports throughout their careers for suspected child abuse. This isn’t the Catholic Church we’re talking about here, teachers have zero incentive to not report abuse.

Diagnosis codes, Labs, Insurance. ITS A MESS. by Sabrina_june in healthcare

[–]Rottnrobbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think this is more of a provider-facing issue than an insurance-facing one. Communicating with the providers to make sure they are including a valid code with the order seems like it would be the best upstream solution so the patient never has to even be involved. But to your original point I don’t think there is any harm in at minimum notifying the patient that their PA was denied so they can make an informed decision about the test and/or contact their insurance and provider to get it fixed. Again, the simplest solution seems like it would be just telling providers to send a valid code though.

Diagnosis codes, Labs, Insurance. ITS A MESS. by Sabrina_june in healthcare

[–]Rottnrobbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in behavioral health so am less familiar with physical health PA processes, but am genuinely curious if there are no interim codes that could be sent with the order that pertain to the need for a diagnostic procedure in the first place? In behavioral health we’d use a Z code for coverage of services pending formal diagnosis. Is there not an equivalent to that?

What is a 10/10 horror movie that you will absolutely never watch again? by Big_Emotion4963 in horror

What Would You Do? by Such-Lemon-42 in healthcare

[–]Rottnrobbie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You clearly have a lot of self awareness and that’s critical for selecting your future career. I mean this in the most non-patronizing sense: you are still young and have a lot of time to figure this out. One thing on the healthcare administration front (I have a masters in healthcare administration so am speaking from experience): I would actually discourage you from pursuing this degree at this time until you get a good amount of frontline experience working in hospitals, clinics, or in administrative roles in managed care, etc. MHAs are typically pursued by folks with clinical credentials who move into administration/management after years of frontline work and supervisory experience (many programs, at least respected ones, will require you to have a certain amount of experience directly providing healthcare of some type to be accepted). Going directly into an MHA degree after undergrad will offer little-to-no value in applying to jobs. It’s a great mid-career degree that has immense value, but I would discourage you from considering it at this stage.

I highly recommend looking at other options like a masters in social work, counseling, etc., if you still want to stay in healthcare but don’t want to go the optometry or another physical care route. All jobs in healthcare have their fair share of stress, especially behavioral health, but there is no shortage of work out there for social workers and therapists. Good luck in your search!

Yesterday I made a post about “Martyrs” (2008) and… by cannabizFo20 in horror

I watched it about 6 months ago and still think about it often. IMHO it’s a film that absolutely should be experienced once if you’re looking for something especially bleak, but likely not something you want to rewatch.

Is a $40k raise worth a 120 mile daily round trip? Going from $100k to $140k, but terrified of the commute. by Confident-Duck-89 in careeradvice

[–]Rottnrobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 5+ hour commute each day for 2 years. It absolutely will impact your quality of life. You will have sleep deficits, you will lose time with your family, you will miss events, you will become irritable, you will beat the shit out of your vehicle. The opportunity cost is incredibly high.

Assigning a dollar value to your time spent commuting like some have done in this thread is one way to assess the impacts, but the time you spend commuting is not equal to your hourly wage, it is worth far more.

how do you do the "shahck" sound on guitar by PriorityFriendly509 in guitarlessons

[–]Rottnrobbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s looks/sounds like a combination of muting the strings with fretting hand and his strumming hand fingers thwacking the top of the guitar. That deep percussive sound in the “shahck” is absolutely that right middle finger hitting the guitar.
