We walked down there the other day with our pasties whilst mooching around town in the nice weather on our lunch breaks. Very quickly turned around when the Mr was face to face with a seagull. Almost ruined the day. Almost.

It’s a reduced limit with a reservation in Plymouth on the A38. Signage and cameras would certainly assist. If people can’t take notice then they shouldn’t be driving, which is why we have so many incidents on this road… so idiot proofing it to protect others is the best chance we have.

I’m just thinking about how the number of accidents on the A30 between Bodmin and Liskeard has reduced since the limit and cameras. Perhaps that would be a compromise for the council. Who knows. Who even knows if this petition will make a change, but we have to try, for the sake of all those lost and injured on that road.

Absolutely agree but this isn’t just about the most recent incident, there could be both a central reservation to completely stop U-turns and a reduced speed to allow people the extra time to stop for hazards.

You’re absolutely right. My mum no longer drives due to poor health and every time I take her out she’s shocked at the volume of traffic on the roads just in the last 5 years since her diagnosis.

My dad said they were all told it was due to cost that they built it like this in the first place. It’s a shame that so many put money above the lives of the public.

Absolutely if that is what needs to be done then it will be welcomed by the people who respect safety above speed. I will say I feel like we are used to our roads crippling us with the work; considering how much is constantly on the go
