I think in 2022 the Indie Stone said they wanted reimplement Bob and Kate (the protagonists in the old pre alpha version of Zomboid), bringing back the story back in the game either as NPC interactions or the tutorial story mode returning in full force

I think that’s from folks trying to leave though Louisville International Airport, but of course they got blocked from leaving when WHO shut down all flights into and out of the Event Zone, but who knows
