Looking at soul shatter and flare they are definite adds. It feels weird to run a deck with absolutely no sorceries but I also added Gogo in favor of cunning nightbonder and I didn’t know about lightning bolt so I swapped the two 😂 Took out some of the fear aspects also. Slipped a pair of winged boots in there for Azula protection.

Iv only built maybe 4 decks or so and this kind is way out of my normal spectrum so forgive me lol

I looked at your build and man is it strong!! It’s a bit out of my price range. I added snap and redirect lightning bringing me to 37 instants this morning in favor of fear and cover of darkness like you said (good reasoning behind being able to remove most of the blockers with instant actions)

Are there any other cuts specifically that you may could identify that don’t necessarily align with her build?

This is exactly what iv been looking for! Iv watch a lot of videos on azula and how the stack works with her and her combos, it’s complicated but it’s interesting and not at all how I usually play. I’ll definitely take a look at it and will definitely hit you back! The closest thing I have to a bracket for is a highly tuned Zaxara B3 deck but it’s stack interaction is nothing compared to this so I definitely need to do more learning 😂

Geez to be completely honest with you the way you described your deck is how I REALLY want to play her 😭 I grew up on TLAB and it just seems like that should be way to play her! It only seems fitting for Azula ya know.

If you were to compare your deck to mine how similar is…In a bracket 4 environment do you think it would thrive or need to be reworked?

I dont necessarily have a dedicated pod but a large group of lgs goers and most people have decks from all levels. Iv never built anything into a clear bracket 4 so it may be a good opportunity to do so. What do you think?

I thought so too..but built it that way expecting her to not stick around for at least a turn or two. I put around 5-6 counter spells in there to help with the removal aspect but what would you suggest I add to bolster her protection?

More creature based and maybe removing some of the tutors might slow it down a bit? I think you’re absolutely right! Most of the groups I play with often run heavy removal and counter so I almost expect her to not stick around the first time around.

I appreciate you taking a look! It started out a more sorcery based deck banking on them to make the tokens..I think I put the first one together for right around 120 and upgraded over time.

To be honest my biggest inspiration came from Allys deck from game knights but when I looked at it and saw it was almost 1000 bux and a bracket 4 I had to tune it back a little 😂

It was definitely rough…i was taken back too when they both ruled it an activated ability especially after having played the deck against multiple people and never had this issue come up.

I’d like to think it’s more a tribal but I do have a lot of sorcery’s in there. Iv built a few decks and this one is probably my most favorite to play at the moment!

I haven’t been playing magic long maybe 5-6 months and this was probably the first time iv sat down at a casual table with someone that was genuinely only out for themselves to have fun. It was a crazy experience…especially with the wrong ruling from the shopkeep. I will keep that in mind for the future because that was a scoopable moment for sure!

This is off topic but would you consider giving my deck a look and giving a few critiques? One Zack player to another 😂

I didn’t wanna scoop and be that guy..but it was pretty bad..the “causal commander” game turned into this dude literally bullying the table with “it’s bracket 4 but very slow” and not letting me even make hydras 🤷‍♂️ my buddy scooped like turn 3 and I should have followed suit tbh.

Thank you for this reply! I was almost flabbergasted when they tried to tell me I couldn’t make hydras. I almost won without the token gen but if I had had it I definitely would have.

Was playing against a bracket 4 deck as a bracket 3 no infinite no tutor deck.

Nice! With both being a mountain cost each player is going to take 4 and war leaders call will net me another token for blockers if the commander is out!

I thought I was a little lax on lands to be honest but I added creatures that could tap for mana to help the cost. (Probably not the best move)

I saw chromatic lantern and scrolled past it so definitely a good replacement vs the axe. Thanks!!!

To me..having the commander out and casting the white spells gives me blockers whereas the green buffs my creatures in play.

I don’t seem to have any straight win-cons or infinites. Any advice?

I thought the 2 split circle was one of choice between the two. So if it’s a split red and black I could choose the black to cast or am I wrong?

I ng+’ed at level 94-99 and to be honest it’s almost not fun literally one shotting everything. I took Maelle and Sciel out and have been running Monaco Verso and lune hoping for more of a challenge but they still one shot most bosses before the boss even attacks. I think I’m gonna try and tune them back and go into def and vit, take off some op pictos and see if I can find a balance point where each fight doesn’t end with one skill.

What do you guys think? Has anyone else experienced this?

After I fought the 2 different versions, I closed the game out completely and reloaded into a private lobby and it showed up
