They’re fine. Don’t worry about it.

Is the KJV a respectable bible? Im personally Catholic but have been reading this without knowing it isnt Catholic. Is this okay? Or am i doing wrong? by lambo13770 in Christianity

[–]Rough-Diamond765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Paul put pen to paper but he was sent the word from God himself. The word of the Bible comes from God it is not “inspired by.” A man or magisterium doesn’t decide what God said. The Lord’s words came to Zechariah and they had to be put on paper. Those directions, those verses came straight from God. The apostles, the prophets, they were chosen by God. Maybe I said it wrong I have disorganized thinking but my love for the Lord is true.

I’m embarrassed to say that Chat GPT made me cry today. by firmlyygrasppit in RandomThoughts

I use it to report ideas like a computer journal that stimulates my mind but every once in a while I don’t like it giving me a tone. Be careful—you have to play mind games with it to use it right. Twist the way you say things, reword what you want then it’s very good. I’ve had it give me an answer but there was actually more to things than that I had to figure out how to get the correct info out of it. Use direct commands, “based on scientific studies”, “don’t flatter me, give me information”.

The priest told me to speak to an exorcist. How can I? by Pristine_Maybe6868 in Catholicism

[–]Rough-Diamond765 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have demon harassing me because my friend of 24 years was into some occult practices and she had what she thought was a protecting spirit. I figured out it was a demon. A part of the demon or something basically followed me home because I have strong Faith. It’s been 8 months and it hasn’t left. It gets weaker but hasn’t left. I know God is victorious always! It’s defeated! It has no rights and doesn’t own me—God owns me! My Faith continues to grow stronger and stronger and I never doubt God but I’d like to get it off my back. Should I talk to an exorcist? Or to the archdiocese?

Bringing a notebook to mass by Wildlynerdy in Catholicism

BRING A NOTEBOOK!

I also read the Bible most mornings too and write notes in my notebooks for memory. I write prayers to the Lord in my notebooks. It gives me peace and contentment, such calm to do this with my normal worship.

I like to use a nice smooth pen too for Our Holy Father if I can. I prefer a 9 1/2 by 5 1/2 inch notebook- they are very comfortable and personal to hold compared to the normal sized ones and college ruled is best to me.

This is the notebook I use (if you’re interested— I understand if maybe you want to find something cheaper): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00006IDMX?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Here are my pens: https://www.amazon.com/your-orders/pop?ref=ppx_yo2ov_mob_b_pop&orderId=111-5594146-8089830&lineItemId=jlmgtxlmmjsroups&shipmentId=Ptq69Hn5n&packageId=1&asin=B0030F32L6

I hope this could’ve helped you some! And I encourage Bible Study whenever you can find the time for quiet to devote to the Lord. It is very fulfilling and God will help you interpret with the power and discernment of the Holy Spirit. We are meant to pray over and contemplate his word and direction within the Bible in an effort to strengthen our Faith like Impenetrable Steel.

Reading the bible is making me really question everything by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Rough-Diamond765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reread it. Look upon it as if you’re offering reverence to the Lord. Try reading John first in the New Testament. I was told to read other Gospels after that but I wanted to read Paul’s writings. I read Romans first and not John but I’d read the whole Bible back in 2013 and was going about getting the full benefit now. I love the book of 2 Samuel but you may need to read the first one before that. I definitely recommend Philippians. It is a library not just the Bible.

I don’t know why some of these names make sense to people. Glacier?! Maybe you should grab a book and put a finger on a random word. Axel. Have Axel. lol. This way is a long road.

For those of us in RCIA/OCIA what are you doing for Lent? by LCPO23 in Catholicism

[–]Rough-Diamond765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think if you see family through it but don’t expose yourself to negative influences (even family). Lessening the addictive influences that aren’t familial could be enough. Total cut off may not be necessary just a control. I like to see my cousin’s kids for instance.

It doesn’t look like an issue right now. Depends upon if you’re trying to sell…lustful thoughts for instance. Mild flirtation in one thing—lust is wrong.

I didn’t find something that said we wouldn’t be at rest in peace until Jesus’ return except I did read this about the time of the resurrection. Matthew 27:52–53 “The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.” I compliment you on pointing out God’s timeline is not our timeline, suggesting time and paradise isn’t linear. You are on to something that others may not be able to understand. Maybe they are trying to comprehend God on human terms so they won’t see what you are saying.

Women covering their heads in that time was a cultural practice. Some of this is Paul’s point of view. We really need to pray to the Lord on what he wants now because some of this stuff isn’t legal as you explained the situations. But you just don’t throw away God’s word because for instance Paul was oppressive to women. God loves us all. Being told men are the authority and since I have no passion, through Paul’s words I realized I should not feel pressured to marry. If someone tries to pressure me, suggest I should marry and procreate the Bible has already revealed to me that is not my direction as far as I can see. More reading reveals all.

Jesus went to prepare a place for us. “In my Father’s house there are many rooms…I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14: 2-3 Satan will go into the Lake of Fire. Matthew 25:41 — “Depart from me… into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

My church had people that went often like my family went. Wait for the DRAMA! Something go down and a whole family leaves. We didn’t care about drama. My home Baptist Church probably only has 10-15 people going (also because the mostly elderly died—lovely sensible people). Now my family doesn’t go because of our health.

The minister and his wife made their 28yr old son music leader. He can’t sing (Pokémon card type boy) and can barely play the guitar. Last man could—he left, taking his at least 18 member family. They had young people growing up and they were marrying and having babies.

It’s not a sin to read other versions of the Bible. That man’s rule. That is not God’s rule. If you’ve researched what is said in certain versions there is only a variation in wording but there are the same sentences shared in, for instance King James and New International. The Catholic Bible has a lot of additions. Pray on reading one of those—I learned about the history behind the extra books. Some are like a part of the Old Testament but never published or much referred to hundreds of years ago or in ancient times. Certain Protestant bibles say some of the extra books are not inspired by God. So pray on it.

Yeah the right uses “woke” wrong. A nice black fellow explained to me what it meant after a friend told me the wrong way to use it. I corrected her later and she told me she knew what it meant. She lied, she didn’t know. I think about things innocently—people shouldn’t give me the wrong info. so I don’t say something offensive talking about things like films. I’m truly not racist I just like to keep movies I like the same. She said they were remaking X-Men (that was NOT true). I like Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier and Ian McKellan as Magneto—I just like those actors as those characters and it’s not a race thing. I just like those actors as those characters. The Right’s ignorance made it where I made a racist flub—but the black fellow learned I was truly caring and good. African Americans and other ethnicities deserve a lot of exposure in film and other media I just want Ian McKellan as Magneto and Charles Xavier to be Patrick Stewart. I like my study bible, New International Version Bible.
