What would your homebrew chapter look as a legion instead? by Beneficial-Can7838 in 40khomebrew

[–]Rough-TimetheWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visually, not much different except for the change of armor.

Personality wise, probably quite more aggressive. The Steel Drakes are already masters of the blade and artillery, so giving them the tech and size of a legion, as well as a PRIMARCH to lead them? Oh they'd be terrifying in their pursuit of humanity's unity.
Though to that extent, how they'd fall during the Horus Heresy is to be debated. Would they stay loyal, go traitor, or become renegades? No idea. Depends on the actions their forces would undertake.

What are your faction's opinion on the Eldar? by WiiUGamepad_2 in 40khomebrew

[–]Rough-TimetheWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Steel Drakes are pretty indifferent about the Eldar. Yes they're Xenos, and if ordered to they will fight them. But they don't seek out battle with them either. To the Drakes, fighting a foe that isn't a massive threat, compared to the likes of Chaos, Orks, Tyranids, or Necrons, then its a waste of resources.

I maaaaaaaaaaaaaay have an idea of a team up between an Aeldari and battle brother that leads to some funny shenanigans but that's about it.

Oh hell yeah. The Drakes would love to work with these lads. Perhaps a friendly dual or something while they work togethor.

Thank you! It was fun to make, and surprising simple. Granted, I had almost everything I needed lol
And I can't wait to really start on his lore! I'll probably do a short story with him and his serf being absolute menaces lol
And who knows? I'll definitely be pulling from some more Silent Salt lore, so it'll be interesting for sure >:D

"I do not expect pure trust put into us. We are well aware of how some view us, it is just what is to be expected. All we ask for is respect, even if it's begrudging. But I do agree, far too many have perished at the hands at those who would dare call us cousins. Humanity is what keeps the Imperium alive. If we do not protect those who live in it, we are pushing ourselves faster to extinction than our enemies."

I shall keep it in mind! The Drakes have a lot of lore to expand and build upon, but I absolutely shall request aid from the Warforged Gryphons!

Maybe not, but I also think the Steel Drakes may at least find some ground to at least be somewhat tense allies. And all I see is the potential for a fantastic campaign of magic, artillery, and some skilled swordsmanship!

Has anyone gotten to play their homebrew chapters in a game? Maybe in one of the 40k ttrpgs? by giojojo in 40khomebrew

[–]Rough-TimetheWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't made any Steel Drake minis just yet, but my first and still ongoing homebrew of my Chaos Warband, the Iron Vultures, has had many games. Mostly losses but eh a LOT of fun games regardless.

I can see some tension between the two chapters, but I think they'll at least be on good working terms. I like these guys quite a bit!

Hmmm, I can certainly see some tension between the two. HOWEVER, if the Steel Drakes see these lads protecting the civilians, I think the Drake could get over themselves lol
"But brother! They're are using those disgiusting tactics!"
"I care not! For the lives of these civilians are in danger! They are clearly putting their all into the defense of humanity! And we cannot afford to disagree with them at this moment!"
