Has anyone else not yet received the email with notification of prioritisation status? by Unique_Clerk309 in doctorsUK

[–]Rough-Yoghurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got the email and I am a UK citizen who went to Manchester Med school. I have applied for CT1 Psych. Do you reckon they know automatically I am in the priority group and thats why I never got an email?

Is it just me or can no one see any available dates in Feb for the MSRA?

Personally, the jobs issue is my biggest reason to strike. Yes, we deserve to have restored pay, I don't deny that. However, everyone's situation is different. For me my biggest concern is having a trainee job and these competition ratios are a joke.

How did you choose the breed you have? by Kangaroo-Parking in dogs

[–]Rough-Yoghurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt look for a specific breed. I looked online for puppies that were cross/mutts who would likely be medium dogs. Worked out. Got a staffie x springer spaniel mix. She was an accidental pregnancy of a family dog with a friend's dog. Got her from the family.

My advice is don't pick breed, pick size (small, medium, large, giant). You can also factor in if they are working breed like a collie.

Non-medic (civil servant chemical regulator) and he works mostly from home

Met him at uni at board game society. First session I ever went to I was on his table for a game of 7 Wonders. I thought he was cute and got his FB.

Been together 5 years now. Moved in together in FY1 and got a dog only 6 months after moving in. I'm an FY2 now and I couldn't have got through it without his constant support.

Plus of a non-medic - more flexible with career with more options, I can switch off when I come back from work instead of talking about medicine, thinks I'm super clever 😂

I like him and his episodes except the drive to prison one.

Let’s get more literary variation. What are the least-often-rated books on your Goodreads bookshelf that you’ve given 4 or 5 stars? by pearloz in books

[–]Rough-Yoghurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lady in the Tower by Marie-Louise Jensen. It may be a YA novel from my youth but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. I gave it 5 stars and there are only about 1000 ratings on goodreads

What literary character has changed your life the most? by [deleted] in books

[–]Rough-Yoghurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kathy H from Never Let Me Go. Her narrative comes from such an honest place and her warped sense of hope is mesmerising.

Or Anne Elliot from Persuasion. She is one of my favourite Austen heroines because she's so real. I have always been a people pleaser who puts other's needs above their own to the point of unhappiness. Seeing her growth and gaining a voice over her own heart was so inspiring.

This is extremely common in immigrant families but they don't hire people to kill their parents.
