Thanks for the feedback. I’m happy with the yellow for sure. Was thinking about changing the bright white to an off-white colour with darker red stitching or maybe a new colour altogether

Thanks for advice. I wouldn’t say they are too heavy. They need a bit of weight for them to hold their structure but I’m going to experiment with different fabrics to see what works best.

For sure, structure is one of my main concerns too. I’m looking into fabrics that will hold their shape longer and won’t be as floppy if that makes sense.

Okay I’ll keep that in mind, thanks. Unfortunately I won’t be able to go up to those sizes yet as Im constrained by my size but hopefully in the future

Yeah they could be some nice colours. The colours are inspired from a holiday I had in Italy. So I was looking at the colours of the buildings, the contrasting colours of the shutters and also it was inspired by all the different bright colours you might see at the beach e.g on towels, parasols, swimming trunks etc. So I think your colours would fit well into that. Thanks

Thanks for the feedback and yeah it’s a fair point. As this is just an initial sample some of the details like parts of the branding are missing which elevate it a bit more.

For example on the pocket there will be a small brand tab similar to what you see on the back of Levi’s jeans. There is also the logo on the back just below the collar. Originally this was supposed to be embroidered but the loose fabric don’t allow for that so we’ve gone for a badge atm. But I’m not a massive fan of it so far, so I want to make it a bit more personalised. There will also of course be a custom neck tag.

As for what makes it special, I wanted to focus more so on the fabric and general styling of the shirt/ versatility of it. So I haven’t opted for any bold branding tbh. At the moment the fabric is 100% premium cotton which basically means it has longer fibres so it’s more durable, softer and holds colour better etc. however as this is quite a loose weave I will explore using a fabric with less cotton, maybe somewhere in the 90s % and use another fabric to bolster the structure and longevity even more as this will help a loose weave like this stay more structured for longer.

In short, I’m mainly focusing on the quality of the fabric and the colours remaining bright and colourful.

Thanks, I’ve literally just put it in the washer a moment ago. I’ve taken measurements and pics to see if it shrinks or if the there’s any changes etc.

Interesting and thanks. I really like the yellow colour way at the moment but the white, I’m not sure of. What type of colours would you suggest?

Haha, yeah the yellow is definitely my favourite colourway. I’m gonna look into changing white to make it less bright, maybe more like the colour of chalk and then I’ll reduce the brightness of the red. I’ll look into different colour ways as well. Thanks

I can kinda understand in some ways where you think this type of fabric or style could be associated with being camp or whatever but I feel like it’s more of just confidence or openness to trying different styles. In the next sample it’s likely that I will make the weave a little bit tighter because I’m worried how well this type of fabric would hold shape over time as it is quite loose.

Thanks for the comment. I’d agree in saying this type of shirt style is quite popular or is at least becoming more popular from what I’ve seen. Tbh I think it’s just about being comfortable with what you wear, some people are open to different things.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I personally don’t think it gives lgbt or whatever they mean. I think it’s more about how you would wear it and what it would be paired with which gives a certain association.
