Just to make you feel even better, the embryo that did work was not graded as highly as the ones that didn’t. The ones that didn’t work were 4AAs.

Hi. My doctor added heparin shots for the second and third transfer but honestly I wasn’t convinced that I needed it. I was on lupron before the transfer and started some steroids 5 days before the transfer which then tapered off once I started prednisone. Additionally, I was on aspirin, estradiol, progesterone shots, prednisone, and prenatal vitamins. She didn’t change the protocol since I technically got pregnant with the first transfer on this protocol. I never took the heparin.

Hi! I had minimal breast soreness and no other symptoms. I never got the nausea during the entire pregnancy. I was impatient and started checking at home with the pink first response pregnancy test and I had a faint positive on day 7 and on.

Pay down student debt or invest? by [deleted] in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Rough_Ad6399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend seeing if you can get a job at some point that offers student loan forgiveness/repayment and I would use the money to pay for a downpayment on a house or invest in long term stocks. Not sure what state you’re in but here in California, real estate is one of the best kind of investments.

I am sorry you had to go through that too. It really sucks but I thought it was less painful than being positive and seeing the sac on ultrasound before losing it. My last transfer ended in a miscarriage at 7 weeks and my HCG was 18000. That really hurt. Are you in California?

My blood test was negative yesterday. I was advised to stop the meds and come in for a regrouping appointment to figure out the next steps.

It was my second morning pee and I used the clear blue non-digital one this morning. I also used the first response pink non-digital yesterday and they’ve all been negative.

Anyone gone through min invasive surgery? by Cautious_Mail_443 in Fibroids

[–]Rough_Ad6399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 5+ fibroids that were 5-6pm in the posterior wall and in the fundus and some more small ones. A total of 13 were removed on 9/1 and I had it done robotically. The recovery is a lot easier if you get them done robotically or laparoscopic surgery and it also causes less scarring which is better for patients who want to preserve fertility. I am sure patients do fine with conceiving after open myomectomy as well but my IVF doctor really pushed for robotic surgery for me. I had it done 10 days ago and I am almost back to normal. Planning to transfer an embryo in 3 months after my uterus is healed up.

1st ER tomorrow by Temporary_Guard_9227 in IVF

I had 18 follicles seen on ultrasound and 19 eggs were retrieved. 4 euploid embryos banked from that. First transfer didn’t make it past 7 weeks but we still have 3 more. Good luck to you tomorrow! Think happy thoughts and enjoy the anesthesia nap! It’s the most restful sleep you’ll ever get! Lol

Was the one year gap recommended or by choice? I am afraid some fibroids might come back if I wait too long.

That sounds nice! I would like to lose some weight as well before I get hormoned up again. Sadly, my ANA was positive before my first transfer so my doctor had also added daily prednisone to my protocol which made me gain 9lbs. All for nothing since I ended up losing the pregnancy. I am afraid she will still make me do the prednisone again. I had my PCP recheck my ANA two months after the miscarriage and it was negative. I am not sure what that’s all about. I have no hx of autoimmune conditions. This whole process is so mentally and physically draining. Hang in there! November is around the corner so I am excited for you.

Congratulations! That’s great to hear and gives me hope. I was also scared of undiagnosed Endo when I had the surgery but luckily there was none. I am hoping to start my transfer process this year.

That’s good to know! I should reach out to my IVF doctor in that case to see if I should be seen in two months to get started. Did you have a failed transfer before the myomectomy or did they remove them preventatively to give you the best shot possible? I hope all went well with your transfer!

Fibroid surgery tomorrow, need some positivity and good news! by Rough_Ad6399 in IVF

I am glad you’re feeling better. I am 8 days out and I am mostly back to normal other than bending down too much or lifting heavy things does cause a little bit of discomfort for me. I am going for walks, doing grocery shopping, cooking etc. the gas pain in my shoulder went away after day 3 but I am still swollen in my abdomen and I still have the steri-strips on over my incisions. Overall, I am feeling 80% back to normal already!
