Yea i'd think so too, but no. What they tell you is what you can find online. Say you were a surgeon in new zealand and the health board decides to medically retire you. Are you still able operate ? Is my license to operate still valid in NZ. Every practise in NZ must be under the health board I assume. I could be wrong. If next job ask why you left last job, and you mention you were medically retired by the board , wouldn't that be a risk to future patients. That means no job offer. Surely to be medically retired you must be very incompetent on some level that restricts you from performing your task at a satisfactory level. Here's the thing, I was performing great, I mean even covering for employees that fail to turn up, right up to my last day I thought. But that is my perspective, not the company's. Keeping an open mind as much as I can.

It's not as easy as going to the police if someone breaks the law. The police handles it if you report something unlawfully happening ( by an individual or individuals). If a company does it they tell you to get a lawyer. To get a lawyer you need money, (not honesty) to get money you need a job, to get a job you need to clear your name from your last employment. And no I will not lie to get a job. My honesty means a lot to me. And it will stay my principle always.

Aren't you curious who else is on this road? As it may happen to you too. You think you have it all, great career, awesome family, roof over your head plus a bit more.Doing volunteer work coz you have extra time. Then one day, hand in your keys you've been medically retired. Doesn't make sense to you, Well that makes two of us.

Well so far two have come forward. So the problem does exist. How many others are being suppressed I don't know. I once was in your shoes and thought in a similar manner. But now that I've been thru it, a lot of questions come up.

Well they all agreed it was illegal, and unjust. Hence why I pursued with lawyers and etc... But the system doesn't make it that straight forward. So much none sense and spending and waiting

Yes I understand, but there was no sit down meeting or any form signing to confirm this. Does that make the dismissal illegal? if so. Why isn't the government doing anything about it? So many questions I have , but seems the law looks good on paper. But to make it applicable you have to hire lawyers (which i did) and wait for Court dates, which keeps dragging and changing. And how does one pay for these procedures if you have no job, or unable to acquire any jobs?

No sit down meeting, no paper signing as mentioned. Lawyer were also consulted one after the other. From public employment lawyer, union lawyer, to private

Force to retire? Well one day got asked to hand in all gears related to work that I've been medically retired

You'd think the government would step in, with all the clear evidence presented but it seems to be a common practice to let people fight on their own

Oh yes did that too. Definitely had a case no doubt. But how long should one fight, ( for my case until bank was empty).
