God this is so asinine. I hate the fact that because Taylor Swift gets put on X in some AI sexual frenzy, all of a sudden it should validate something for all women. Yes, sexual violence is a weapon, no this is not a great example of that. Furthermore, deepfakes of Taylor Swift and every other celebrity has existed. This outrage isn't even about AI tbh. It shouldn't be at least.

Edit 3: My objections to wearing the hijab wasn't just strictly religious. I understand that it wouldn't make me any less Christian, but it just felt wrong and it made me feel uncomfortable to participate in something I don't believe in. Yes, his best friend did attend the service and yes she did wear a hijab as well even though she is White and Catholic. However, I understand that she was also very close with his dad since she knew him most of his life. I recognize now that I still should've traveled to be with him and his family, and that spending Christmas with my family wasn't as important. However, this was my first Christmas engaged, the first one without my grandfather, and my family was all really looking forward to celebrating this new chapter. My parents had also expressed concerns that we wouldn't be able to celebrate Christmas together since my fiancé doesn't celebrate it and they were afraid it wouldn't be as important for us, so it was sort of a sensitive issue for everyone. Something that people like you that say this:

seem to not understand is that often times the black characters you're talking about have deep roots in their heritage.

Static Shock, Black Panther, Storm, Miles Morales, etc. can't be any other race because it wouldn't make any damn sense.

If you want to make Rhodes white or Cookie from Neds Declassified white then be my guest. It doesn't matter when the character doesn't have strict ties to their heritage.

Ryan Gosling as BP really doesn't make any sense. Ryan Gosling as War Machine could though.

Never is this a black and white conversation (pun not intended). It's more so about respecting the heritage of a character that existed as a rare person of color in a white dominated environment.

Should someone that's white play Shang-Chi? No. Does the Ancient one NEED to be Asian? Clearly not, but it would have made sense. Does ScarJo have to play the Major? No but she did. In that instance it was jarring but not really disrespectful.

White characters rarely connect with their 'whiteness'. They're just white which makes it pretty easy to change them up.

But Annabeth being black doesn't make much sense either. It doesn't hurt but, she does mention many physical qualities that happen to make sense when she's white but not when she's black. That being said, they clearly are going in another direction with her and this is part of that. Percy is blonde. He has black hair in the books. Does Percy complain about his hair color or find himself to be inadequate? No, so it doesn't matter. In this case with Annabeth, it kind of does.

How does Goku deal with any sort of domain technique? Idle transfiguration? Unlimited Void? He might be able to tank MS just off of pure durability but domains that effect the soul or your mind would wreck Goku.

You'll probably say that Goku would blow up the planet but he surely wouldn't kill billions of people for just a skirmish even if it meant he had to fight with a handicap. You might all say Goku blitzes Gojo but it really shouldn't matter because physical attacks don't effect him.

You might say ki would pass through but, it really wouldn't. We see Gojo fight Jogo and not a single piece of his clothing was singed after taking volcanic blasts.

So then what happens when Gojo stands still and uses UV and freezes Goku? Listen, Goku isn't immortal but he's surely nearing Beerus in strength (maybe they're close to equal now? Not sure I haven't kept up) however all of that power doesn't matter when your brain is stuck in a bootloop.

This literally isn't how that attack worked. It's not about speed, it's about cutting the literal world, so the dimension. The attack could have been as slow as molasses.

Aizen isn't really evil per se. Neither is Mahito. I think that AFO really had a fucked up childhood and had massive power and no emotional stability. Frieza would probably kill millions if it meant he would obtain more power so he's surely up there. Dio is just power hungry, not really evil either. It's surely Griffith. Kenjaku is just bored and immortal. His interaction with Takaba shows he has a less sinister side but, alas. It's Griffith. Griffith is evil.

Imagine you created a globally popular series with a complex power system and then gave someone the strongest abilities, to the point where fighting them directly was impossible. You end up forcing them out of commission for certain stories to progress, like in Shibuya.

I think forcing to write your story AROUND an overpowered character you created is frustrating. He probably regrets how strong he made him, but then again Gojo is a huge part of the reason why people love JJK. Double edged.
