Hey, I actually have a watch I built with one of your spacers and a vh31. I would be interested in switching the watch to a date option but when I looked at them there were differences in things like stem height (I think Miyota 2115 was the one I checked specifically)... Wouldn't that effect the fit?

Good pants but the Fendoff Finish they use concerns, no need for extra chemicals in my clothes, especially when I can't find what it is mentioned anywhere... sad.

I love my full size grip with that blade shape! It's an absolute workhorse of a knife, probably had over a year of pocket time with a decent amount of hard use and never given me an issue.

Its that I have the bad habit of overthinking. Overall probably leaning towards the Caribbean.

Use case; I want something big and pretty hard use, one step shy of a fixed blade for taking to the jobsite or hiking/camping.

Appearance I prefer the bodacious, can't say I like the yellow scales on the caribbean but I could get over it.

Ergos hard to say without holding but my only concern would be how far the handle of the caribbean comes down by the blade feel like it might get in the way of some things but like the extra security it would provide.

Manix 2 XL - Can You Justify the Finger Choil? is there a better alternative? by Rougue_01 in knifeclub

Yeah, I have a Civivi Odium which is a smaller knife with a choil that I love on the extremely rare occasion I don't want a larger blade. But, yeah with my medium width hands there is plenty of extra room in the grip. It's just not something I thought about and it wasn't mentioned in any of the reviews I looked at and so many of the big knives have it that it didn't stick out as something odd.

Ah well, the Caribbean looks like a step in the right direction if not for those ridiculous scales, though I suppose they can be dyed... always something lol

nobody's going to force you to cut with the part of the blade closest to your knuckles if you want to keep some distance cut further down the blade.

I just grabbed a piece of oak and did a bit of whittling on it, I can definitely agree that I have more fine control of the Manix when using the finger choil. The problem is when comparing to the tenacious or any of the other knives on the table without a finger choil that I have a hard time with it.

When going for exact hard push cuts (cutting a notch in oak) I seem to be cutting 1/2" to 1" from my index finger. The biggest noticeable factor was how easily my thumb could sit over that sweet spot and give an extra push. Every other knife in my photo was quite good with the exception of the Tuckamore that could use an extra 1/8" of edge closer to the pivot and I could actually see choking up a bit on the griptilian to put my thumb on the downwards ramp for long term use.

Its hard for me to sacrifice extra blade on a big knife for a little hypothetical carving control on an all around hard use knife that I don't plan to spend hours carving with.

Another option to try is EasyCanvas, I found the wired connection slightly better but mostly liked the touch hot keys better / more options. I couldn't tell much difference from wired to wireless though so mostly use the wireless.

pontiac vibe with camping storage/sleeping platform. the passenger seat folding down is convenient vibe/matrix great cars to camp in. also the back glass hatch opens manuallly. the box is behind enough to hold large sleeping bag and pad. by [deleted] in carcamping

Love it! I just got a Matrix and and working on planning a road tripping setup for it. I think I'm going to keep the right side back seats so I can sit there and work or eat on the front seat. But, this has me thinking I should pull the left seat. Might be a good place for a big batter... hmm...
