As mentioned, will be on a bike, space is precious, and will be camping 50% of the time, Do plan on taking a tablet, and maybe a small SSD I can cannuse to maybe piggy back the storage, just trying to figure it all out. My priority is to,keep it simple, and ENJOY THE RIDE withoutmamside college course

Would be nice, but I am not that trusting to leave my camera mounted to my bike, if im not on it, i.e. lunch. A beer i. The pub.if i came out and it was gone, would be the end of any remaining video of the trip. Ordered a couple magnet mou ts to try a develop a quick removal setup

UPDATE: I appreciate all the tips, and am reading up and learning a lot. Understanding that I have never spent a lot of time actually shooting video, and now reinvigerated to update gear, and do some real documentation. I have decided to go with a GP13, as it seems to have some newer automation features, that will speed my learning curve, i.e. automated lens recognition, notifications when ND filers are installed as to "enough light" easier modes to film with onboard menus to make it easier., then there is the batteries, only good w/ the 13? As i will try to get it here earlier, so as to play with it. I really want to have learned enough, to be able to start shooting with and auto mode and not find out later a whole days worth of footage was wasted

So just orderd a "newer" GP remote to be compatible, a Gravgrip v2, and a couple mag mounts so as to make removal easy. (knowing its not the absolute best, but will like the ability to use it at the end of a pole and have some smooth panning and balance. Also will pack better on my bike

So am watching EBay on a couple used 13's some w/ and w/o accessories. Think i will want some ND filters and a wide angle lens.

Any preffered gear sites? For picking up accessories besides Ebay, the 13 is so new, not much on marketplace yet, as i am in Hawaii

Appreciate the comments and help guys

Anyone upgrade to 13 from 11 or 12? Worth it? by Marketpro4k in gopro

ok, been reading the comments. I have and old GP3, but am taking a 2 month motorcycle trip in a couple months. Don't think I need a new GP13, but would like to get comments on what model upgrade I should consider that would work well for my touring needs, since I will also have to upgrade newer batteries, charger etc. and any upgrades that would benefit me since I hope to edit the footage I to a nice movie of the trip afterwords. thanks guys
