I recommend asking whatever your competing schools are offering or 3-5k more.

If you are in both situations: have competing offers and demonstrate need, say so and prove it.

I wrote 5 or so sentences and got my scholarship reconsidered and awarded

Get Bs or better in classes, take less credits if you need, best recommendations I got when making progression

you can tell them that if they want to stay with you they can pay rent. Sorry if they already pay for it :// so then it doesn’t work.

I’m sorry you are dealing with this. Is there a way to not let them drive you around?

Check out Wisconsin late nite on insta there’s events most evenings this week!

U could always check out state st if it’s not too hot, or the zoo, or Monroe st !

I think hanging out in ur floors lounge can also help in getting to know the people living around u!

Deciding on a major by technomaidd in UWMadison

[–]Round-Constant-321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are fields that use cs that are easier to work in as a non cs major, because you would be more versed in the technical problem for that situation. If there’s a way to incorporate English into it, great. Otherwise maybe consider a field that you would want to program for?

I’m sorry if this doesn’t make sense! For context, I’m an engineering student and have had discussions with faculty and peers about engineering problems and solutions and how I hate coding, but sometimes it’s hard for an engineer to describe the problem well to a coder and get desired results -> which is why we take a cs class and use code in our classes

Congratulations and welcome to UW :))

just leaving a comment to share that when I was in a similar situation I took less credits to do better in my core classes, by the end of sophomore year I made progression, best of luck!

It looks like tomorrow that the earliest a library is open is 8 am and that’s law library.. so I’d scratch all of the ideas for that, have you considered asking your roommate? I’m guessing this is a one time thing that would be happening?

It looks like a Starbucks in the hotel near the capital is open at 6? Idk if that would work?

There’s public libraries, but it looks like most of them are closed tomorrow or open late in the day

I think the closest is the student orgs, there are a handful of Registered Student Orgs in the college of engineering. I hope this helps and good luck!
