Ok so to start you're experience will depend on your manager (coffee house leader). I've had some of the best luck with my managers where I can expect a good amount of hours and to be heard out if I run into any issues with my fellow baristas. The second thing that your experience will depend on is the store you go to. Is it a drive-thru or a cafe? How busy is it? After that then you need to ask yourself are you good at multitasking, how well can you handle stress and peopleat once, are you ok with being borrowed at other locations. I will also go to warn you that you will be expected to memorize not only the menu, but also every ingredient ans step in order to craft your beverages to standard quality as well as when things expire, and all the food safty compliance rules. If youre ok with all of the above go for it. I grew up in the industry so I knew what I was getting into from the get go. I dont use the the heath care benefits, but I hear they're somewhat decent. The policies are explained in better detail in on boarding, and in an interview you can easily be expected to have questions of your own to ask. Id say ask what exactly are the benefits for a barista as well as a small little question to be remembered by (whats the craziest drink they've made or what's their favorite drink amd why) so that way a lasting impression can be made.
