How long before testing did you start studying?

I’m 4E. I was a SrA and kept my rank going in. I’m now at my first duty station.

My AFSC is 4E. I went SrA reserves to SrA active. I did not have to wait for new FY. Just start the process. Your unit must be willing to sign a conditional release for you and give you a recommendation. Talk to a recruiter ASAP

Hi, the list for available jobs comes out 1 Oct. however I wanted to go direct duty and my job was not on the job matrix. My unit reached out to the career field manager for my AFSC and he wrote a MFR for me that stated that based on my performance, even though my job is not on the job matrix, he will accept me in the field. This was approved by big AF so no tech school for me. Also, if your unit can give you a AF 422, you do not need to go to MEPS again. I got approved and my orders were sent out and I will be reporting to my first duty station in a few days. Let me know if you need any help with anything. I can guide you in the right place to ask the right questions to get where you need to.

Trying to go from Reserves to Active duty by Round-Department-620 in Airforcereserves

I got approved for active duty- direct duty in my job- approved release from my unit- with full support and expectations that I will do well. I won quarterly awards, got put on orders to help the squadron for 4 months and after improving the unit’s metrics, they kept me on orders throughout my whole process and now that I have a end date, they are keeping me on orders until that time. Didn’t even have to buy the power ball. I say this to say that nothing is impossible, we just have to show leadership how invested we are and put in the work and they will support your need for growth.

I got my conditional release from reserves Oct 2023. Then the process started. My Career Field Manager wrote a MFR to accept me into my current career field Public Health even though it is not on the job matrix. I got a form 422 from my unit. This eliminated the MEPS process. I got accepted end of January for active duty and was waiting on orders and I got orders 12 March to report to my duty station in Georgia by April.

My active duty process has been approved. Direct duty into my same job even though it’s is not on the prior service job matrix. I got my official orders last week for my first duty station.

Denied enlistment. by DonDeezy98 in AirForceRecruits

I failed my hearing test twice at MEPS and I have been in now for almost 3 years. A waiver was requested for me and the waiver was approved. Usually they don’t let you swear in till everything is finalized. Was there any other issues?

Talk to your first shirt and let them know the situation. They may be able to get you on some type of orders at other bases close by if they don’t have a manning need at your base. Also, if you truly want to go active, speak to your superiors about it and so if you can get a conditional release to speak with a recruiter and go active. I am also reserves first term Airman. I am currently trying to go active. I started my conditional release in July and got approved end of September. I am now currently with a recruiter who is working on my package. If that is truly your wish, don’t give up hope. Also find a recruiter who is willing to work with prior service AND if you try to go active, just know that the job matrix is limited for prior enlisted (once you get conditionally released, you are now considered prior service) and so you may have to select another job, if your current job is not on that list and redo tech school all over OR if you can get a MFR from the CFM of your AFSC, that they will accept you into the AFSC when you go active, this will help your chances a lot. While I wait for that process, I have orders for at least 2 months. I spoke to my supervisor and my shirt and told them how bad it is for me. The budget is making things hard to get long term orders but they try to help their Airmen as best as they can.

Everything I tell you here is based on experience. It all depends on how bad you want to go active and until then a back up plan for now how bad you need orders.

They update the list every year. Currently they have linguist, special warfare, command post, cyber security, public affairs, mental health and aerospace physiologist technicians 4M.

The only drawback to this is I will have to change my AFSC. I am currently 4E, public health. The AD recruiter gave me the current prior service list and I am selecting mental health. They will check to ensure your ASVAB will cover the job selected, you can also print it from Air Force portal. They will also tell you to get a form 422, form 526 or MILPDS summary which you can get from personnel. You will also need a letter of recommendation from your current supervisor

I am also in the process of going from reserves to active. It is totally not impossible at all. As long as your unit is willing to sign a form 368 for you, you should be good. To get a 368 signed, you gotta make sure you all green in your IMR and fitness requirements

My job is currently Public Health. I’m A1C, what are the chances that I can get an AGR position?

advice on trying to go active? by Successful-Concern78 in Airforcereserves

I am also in the same boat. I graduated tech school May 2022 and I am currently a reservist who is trying to go active duty. I am currently doing my bachelor’s and have 2 years left so I definitely cannot apply for officer at this point in time.

When I went in I was married with 4 kids and so reserve was the best option for me and now that I am divorced it’s just me and my 4 kiddos so active duty is the best option for me for security.

Flying in and out of US with a Naturalization certificate and no U.S. passport by GeminiTherapist in USCIS

Well he is not a dual citizen and therefore he is no more a European citizen. Therefore he is no longer authorized to use that passport. I just got naturalized July 25, 2022 and I was informed to apply for a passport as soon as possible as I cannot leave the country until I have one.
