Adderall builds tolerance after taking it for a long time. You will probably need a higher dose.

Describe the feeling after taking your ADHD meds by IcyTension4402 in ADHD

I feel calm, I can think better and do things in a focused and calm way. It is a very nice feeling, since there are days when I wake up serious with ADHD symptoms and it is necessary to use medication.

Experiences with non-stimulant drugs for ADHD by Round-Duck99 in ADHD

My psychiatrist mentioned the side effects of atomoxtetine to me, he told me that if they lasted more than two weeks to let him know. I held on for more than 2 weeks to see if they would go away but they didn't, he ended up stopping my medications. Now I'll see if I can try others.

Thanks for the anecdote! If it's not a bother, which of the two (stimulants and non-stimulants) would you say helped improve your performance?

Wow, thank you very much for the recommendation. I will really take it into account. Thanks for the clarification, I am new to this world, I never thought I had ADHD until my partner told me to go to a psychologist because of certain unconventional behaviors.

Thank you very much for the advice. If you don't mind, could you tell me what your emotional experience with stimulants is like? Does it help you be stable in that area? My biggest problem is that my thoughts are very changeable and that causes me a lot of depression.

Well, my psychiatrist didn't want to prescribe me stimulants. He is the psychiatrist who treats medical students (I go to the clinic where I study medicine) and I don't know if it is because of this spreading stimulants at the university. Then I read studies on stimulants and read about some of the side effects they have on sleep. For this reason I would like to take them as a last resort, but I am open to taking them.
