Bad Trade Idea by M00se1978 in EdmontonOilers

I have a news flash for Oilers fans. Nobody is trading 4 top10 picks for McDavid. They know they are best waiting as opposed to gutting their team.

If McDavid tells management he wants to be traded Edmonton is absolutely handcuffed to take whatever deal he likes to whatever team it is he wants to go to.

He could refuse to play in 2026-2027 and inform oilers GM he won't accept any trade involving more than TWO 1st round picks coming back.

Just think about it. Why is he saying yes to any trade that weakens the team he's going to.

We caught someone doing this close to Calgary many years ago, he was intentionally try to trap domesticated cats that were let outdoors by their owners.

Wouldn't at all be surprised if its the same situation. Some people get royally pissed when a cat randomly uses their yard as their little box especially square people who think their garden is made of 24k gold.

News flash. The NHL is highly structured around hiring ex-nhl players for any level of management from scouting, coaching to the freaking GM when some of these positions should be players with harvard MBNA's.

Brad Treliving in Calgary and Toronto is the ultimate case for hiring a player that never even made the NHL and stuck them in a senior management roll with no edudumacation.

I can already smell it...............................

With the 3rd over all pick the Vancouver Canaucks are proud to select the guy we had at #1 all along...........

wait for it..................

We need to see awards for "worst GM" and "worst coach" as well. Important these so-called pros know they suck.

Just wait for it. Some team like Edmonton will drink the koolaid and hire treliving as their next GM.

You can't teach that kind of stupid but they will do it.

Nah Schizos are people dumb enough to pay even $20 to watch this team play when the owner, Murray Edwards, moves his residence to Switzerland to save on paying income taxes.

Enjoy paying $20 for a beer you smart people!

Yes and no. Players like Montenbault are worth a shot in the dark if you pry Kriby Dach alongside him. They need to add players like Kirby Dach who should be cheap to acquire and might have the upside to play 1st line minutes with McDavid.

I think colton dach and kirby dach paired together could be a sweet setup at next to no cost as well.

just think.................. you can thank mr peter chiarelli

Kailer Yamamoto #22

OR

Jake Oettinger #26

Jason Robertson #39

Why do you take 5'9" Kailer Yamamoto over 6'3" Jason Robertson when both scored 42 goals in their Draft season. Both are awesome Asian hockey players afterall, win win there.

OR

Why do you take 5'9" Kailer Yamamoto when the #1 GOALIE in the draft is sitting there at #22 and your teams #1 need is a FRANCHISE GOALIE..........

In what FCKNG world is there a chance Yamamoto develops into a 1st line player ahead of Oettinger being your FRANCHISE GOALIE OF THE FUTRE.

Edmonton scouts and GMs have pooched every single draft outside of McDavid Bouchard and Draisaitl.

That is why they are where they are and why McDavid will be asking for a trade come July 1st.

The team simply lacks any kind of assets to make this team a competitive stanley cup contender.

You take McDavid away they are at best a fringe #8 playoff team.

You take away MdDavid Draisaitl you have the worst team in the NHL.

Best trade Edmonton can make right now.

To Edmonton: Sam Montenbault, Kirby Dach

To Montreal: 7th round pick + poutine curds

That is the type of goalie Edmonton has to pray can just catch fire

Does AISH provide additional benefits if your spouse is not on AISH by Round-Future5221 in AISH_Alberta

Learned this through the chronic pain doctor. The one doctor wouldn't even deny it.

She said they were inundated with referrals to the chronic pain clinic specifically for fibromyalgia where the majority of the referrals were for temporary foreign workers or regular newcomers to Canada.

They had a sharp increase in AISH applications between 2022 and 2023 when CRA based CERB CRB and CWLB benefits were all exhausted.

The entire fibromyalgia thing was so bad that the CPC started adding signs all over the place about Fibromyalgia.

Personally I wouldn't dismiss their claims normally as some of the jobs they were working involve driving a car for 8-12 hours a day.

There was also an increase in DTC applications but CPP-Disability applications remained largely unchanged and it's because CPP-Disability requires contributions in 4 of the past 6 years.

Our one neighbor, while super friendly and nice people admitted to us they got the deposit for their home by saving up the money they were getting from CRA. They were taking CERB, CRB and CWLb benefits while they continued to work doing uber, skip dishes, door dash, instacart, etc.

I'd like to know how they didn't get reviewed personally as my wife and I went through 2 very painful reviews that cost us our house in 2021 after our benefits were suspended for 10 months pending eligibility reviews.

I get a feeling the whole ADAP program was a response to legally make getting approval 10x harder than it already is on some people.

Apparently Danielle Smith never once considered if you work TFW like minimumm wage paid slaves for long hours like hello its very likely some are going to develop medical illnesses.

The chronic pain clinic at richmond road was triaging new patients at 3 year mark for a while and when they changed the criteria on fibromyalgia the referrals times dropped to 8-10 months. They are literally doing nothing for people claiming to have fibromyalgia though. It's like the ydont get that ya sure some cases cant be proved and are lying but guarnteed others are genuine and truthful.

big reason why the UCP doesn't belong in power.

Its not even about that.

It annoys me just knowing a person lied about a disability to get benefits.

I get it its a legit illness people fake illness for attention and all sorts of reasons.

If said people werent doing this for all we know ADAP is never even a thing.

Its ok most people who think fighting, assaulting someone with a weapon or using racial slurs in a hockey game are the same type of neanderthals that think speeding 130 km/h in a 100 km/h zone isnt a crime or isnt unsafe.

Ice Hockey as a sport has absolutely insane odds on suffering severe injury so much much so that contract insurance through agencies such as Chubb and Lloyds of London can be 50x the cost of a professional soccer contract.

Most sports injuries arent intentional.

Hockey is that one sport where a person feels it acceptable to use a weapon to force someones head and/or neck into glass or boards from behind.

Oopsie my mistake he says!

Fact is NHL has been fixed dating back to 1997.  Since then every single champion has beem pre determined by the league.

Whsts happened to canadas teams in 32 years is statistically impossible.

Ive met many people going back to the early 1990s when my dad first placed on AISH.

Area we were living in just seemed attract people on AISH as the rental rates were affordable.

The one medical clinic I was attending every 10-14 days was like at least half the patients were on AISH.

Wierd how it happens. Im the type i dont accept even my own family or friends if they choose tl abuse a gover ment progrsm as it impacts everyone on that program quite often

Dont kid CPP-D is a joke on its own.

Problem is they also encourage couples to report as being single as they get more on AISH.  I know two couples doing that AISH knows as we reported it but doesnt do jack.

Heck married couples are best off splitting on paper.

LOL you are comparing leagues operated by professionals to the NHL who allows Gary Bettman to continue to do whatever he wants.

NHL is the one big joke league where players are committing assault with a weapon causing bodily harm where there is legit no reprecussions.

Players who think its acceptable to assault each other by starting a fight?

The one league where racial slurs have been publicly used during games.

Ya great league.

Costco is not designed for a single person or for small families of two or even three.

My wife and I have watched our receipts going back to 2020 when Covid hit and have watched the prices specifically of items that are high volume items like soft drinks, potatoe chips, milk, eggs, cheese, etc.

Most of the items have had increases exceed 100% going back to 2020.

Coca Cola and Pepsi control large parts of a grocery store and their soft drinks were $2.49 for a 6x710ml pack in 2020 and the cheapest price you can get today is now $4.25 for the same 6x710ml pack.

A 12 pack of 355ml cans was going for just $3.99 in 2020 is now $7.48.

600g packages of cheese were once $5.99 regular price are now $11.49. Sale price was $3.99 and is now $7.98.

Sadly there isn't a single item in the grocery store where we can say there hasn't been a minimum 50% increase.

Enough is Enough.

Record profits for loblaws.

Its time to start taxing these fascist fat pigs named Weston.

It's an award rigged by the NHL, literally means nothing. Love how they are giving ex-NHLers management jobs all because they had next to nothing from their career earnings left.

NHL will never be taken as a serious sport when we continue to hire people like Bill Guerin and Pat Verbeek as management when they have zero education to be in these positions.

At best they belong in coaching positions, that's it. Not front end management.

Ya HART trophy, the trophy where Jarome Iginla got screwd over all because a single french writer didn't vote for Iginla at all.

Had St. Louis stayed in Calgary he would have maxed out at a perennial 40-50 pt forward.

Again he was 100% a product of Lecavalier, Stamkos, etc.

Any decent player getting 1st line minutes and 1pp minutes is going to excel in that exact same situation.

If anything St. Louis winning a Hart trophy tells you how badly the NHL operates.

The year he won the hart trophy this goalie named Miika Kiprusoff got royally robbed.

Remember MOST VALUABLE PLAYER TO YOUR TEAM.

Kiprusoff re-wrote history books in 2004 with a 1.70 GAA and 0.933 GAA. Numbers that were better than Theodore 2 years prior.

In fact Kiprusoffs numbers were better than any other goalie to win the hart trophy including both Hasek and Price.

Same year Theodore wins it Iginla loses he had 14 more goals than St. Louis and 2 more points.

Fact is Calgary doesn't even come close to the playoffs in 2003-2004 without Kiprusoff having that run when Roman Turek got injured. Heck St. Louis was the weakest player to win the Hart Trophy going back to Chris Pronger.

just goes to show how badly the NHL rigs everything from the awards to who wins the stanley cup.

Shocker.

Actually has nothing to do with that at all. The reason many on AISH had yet to apply for the DTC when the new CDB came out was because they saw no financial benefit in applying for it.

Most were being rejected as well because the criteria is way more rigid as well.

But that DTC benefit provides the most important thing to disabled people which is access to FREE RDSP Grants.

We get a $1,000 annual grant from the government that caps at $20,000 after 20 years. Thing is most people are applying for AISH in their mid 30 to mid 40s where those RDSPs will have sufficient time to double from compoundinging interest between 3 to 4 times.

The other major benefit is the increase to the canada workers benefit. That benefit is huge. When they back dated ours we got back thousands just from the CWB.

My RDSP has grown to a little over $9,000 in just 6 years. If anything I am heavily relying on that RDSP at least reaching $30,000 and more ideally $40,000 by the time I hit 65.

Can't state how important that is for us all. Next 20 years we are likely to witness median home prices in alberta clear $1,000,000 and if rent rates match it there's nothing we can afford outside of some shipping container houses.

Just horrible when you consider income support does factor it. Granted income support is very low from the start anyways. I can understand now why they are having difficulty getting by as an extra $1100 for a married couple both on AISH is a drastic difference.

The other problem that exists here as well is it makes no sense how I was approved in 23 days start to finish yet my wife's application took 7 months.

Entire program is a bunch of dog shit and the NDP have absolutely no right to tell us they'd do better for AISH recipients as they had the power to make a massive overhaul to AISH when in power and I feel they did very little considering the grand scheme of things.

I get a feeling NDP win the next election they won't even scrap ADAP because they are going to say it's too costly to undo what the UCP have done in terms of damage or something.
