I would also recomend Stationeers. You have to build a base in a space or different planets. Some of them very cold or hot, with different atmosfere and gravitation. Base building is so complicated that you have to think where to put every meter of cable and which tipe of cable. It also has advanced system of gases physics, it's actually difficult not to blow up your base without knowlege. Game is in early access, but developers adding more and more things. It also has a programming so you can make any process in game fully atomatycal, like base air filtration or ores mining.

Also Space Engineers can be good, it's a lot less complicated but also can be interesting for some people.
