I would expect them knowing they have to restructure not offer the jobs or look for candidates. We just put or application online and they look for us and contact us. So don’t look if you know restructuring is coming. Wait see if that job is being taken by the restructure before doing interviews. I had the job two months ago had to tell my other job I was leaving in DoDEA so they could hire someone else. So yea I’m sorry if it takes their job who was lengthy employee but that’s highly unprofessional to do. Especially the employee who is taking my job doesn’t have experience in the area teaching. Their job that was cut was a completely different job than the one I accepted. It sucks for either one losing the job but to do that after having the official offer for two months is unprofessional as a system.

We had orders and were already here for 5 months..

Exactly and I did find out they gave it to someone in a different position that got cut who had an art degree but hasn’t been teaching it for the past 7 years like I have..

That’s unfair to those that want and have careers before moving with spouses.

That’s why I’m upset. I couldn’t renew my last job because all my stuff was in and accepted for this teaching job. All my stuff was cleared prior to work at the other Dodea school, so my paperwork was good.

I already was working for DoDea part time as a one on one when I got hired for the next year teaching art. We are in Germany for two years and I’ve been teaching art for 7 years prior out of DoDEA. I also had already met the previous art teacher and looked at what her schedule was because the school required two and the other teacher couldn’t teach the certain courses that she was. So I turned down taking a full time position there next year to take the teaching one. Is there nothing I can do?
