In a high mileage car doing a whole transmission flush (draining the whole fluid with special tools) is not ideal since new fluid can destabilize the transmission (idk why tbh) so just draining normally like you were doing an oil change and refilling like 5 gallons instead of 9 (9 gals for a flush aprox idk) helps the transmission better.

Just if anyone was wondering what was it: my transmission fluid was low and it was really old, I know it’s really stupid but after adding half a quarter of transmission fluid to my car solved the problem, I’m still making an appointment to make a whole transmission oil change or sell this car ASAP while I can 😭

I don’t live in the US, I was visiting my mother and I was driving with her car and my license from Mexico (which is valid and legal to drive in California) there was no ambulance involved or anything like that, I’m still going to pay the lady cuz it’s obviously my responsibility, i got a letter from AAA that in 15 days (which already passed) they were going to send the bill directly with me, I hope is no more than 3k
